Sure he looks like a meat head but I wouldn’t say that’s worth a suspension. Eakin with his head down in the slot no?

Yeah the Oilers won, when you have McDavid and when Talbot plays well they’re going to pick up some W’s. But I still believe if we had gotten average goaltending from our starter thus far, we’d be leading the division. Talbot has been far from stellar so far, posting 2.88 and .901 which is fairly pedestrian, but it’s still a huge improvement over Smith who’s sitting at 3.91 and .869. If Smith can rediscover some of his previous form, we’ll be picking up a lot more wins.

Smith has never been in form he had one great season in his career , and now the old worn out overrated goalie to begin with it wont happen . And Smith needs to stop showboating when he does make a great save his ego is a joke

I don’t disagree with anything you said, but it appears coaching/managements plan, for the time being, is to keep playing Smith and hope works his towards some kind of semblance of a legitimate starter. I’d prefer Rittich starting or a new goaltender acquired but I can’t cheer against a member of the Flames, so here’s hoping he’s lights out tomorrow.

I am very surprised at how the Oilers have been playing. 2 years ago I figured they were better than they are now. However they are playing well, as hard as it is to say. Talbot may have played lights out today but in reality he is still part of the team. Can't fault any team for having a strong goaltender.

McDavid being the best player in the game will always give the Oil a shot. It certainly helps when Nugent and draisatl are playing decent too. Now if only Bennett could turn into a player like Draisatl (as far as impact not style) the Flames would be that much better.

We needed Sammy to become a top line centre/forward so as to not rely on Monahan in the middle. Ugh! Not saying Sean isn't a good player but to have a elite centre (Bennett) would change this club in so many ways.

God, these sorts of complaints are just insufferable. Fans don't like Smith's hat. They don't like his hair. Now he should stop "showboating" because reasons. The only think Smith needs to do is stop the puck. Everything else is completely irrelevant insofar as it affects the Flames's season.

Leave your criticism to the performance ON THE ICE, and let this other petty nonsense go.

Respectfully, these are stars. They are entertainment. Personalities factor in.

When Marchand punches Eller for celebrating too much, people here expressed opinions in favour of both guys. Nothing to do with the scoresheet.

When a guy like Smith calls his teammates out then stinks, guess what? Something to talk about.

If you stink and you show off, and the odd person notes it, I should think that would be fine on this site. It’s not like it is a majority of the posts.

Schneider would be a perfect fit here , the most competent goalie available ,and before people go on about his hip it's all healed , Kinkaid stole the Starting Job same way Schneider stole it from Loungo, Schneider is a legit starter and Smith would make a competent Backup for Kinkaid this season . Smith,Bennett , 2nd for Schneider and Zacha

I’m not so sure what’s wrong with that? Hardest schedule to start the month as posted by someone else. Pretty happy to be sitting where we are.
