Lindholm taking the next step to something like 55-60 points and fans around the league asking 'wtf was Carolina thinking?'

I'm most excited to see even more change.. how will room be created for Rasmus Andersson to join the roster (who's leaving?)

I have a few players in mind in the Trade Speculation Thread.

Definitely a tier 2 fan. Make 1-2 games in person a year.

For me it's the potential to be Vegas like with wave after wave of offensive attack. There may be a lot of 5-4 games for us this year. Should be fun!

Looking forward to seeing Sam Bennett succeed. Can't wait to see how the new guys perform. Looking forward to the Flames destroying the Canucks and Oilers (sorry Stang)

Short term: Seeing Neal snipe one on the PP, maybe a one-timer off the right side.

Long term: Playoffs (and winning at least one playoff series... is that too much to ask?)

Last year, opening day roster had Bartkowski and Kulak in the top 7 defense.
We had Versteeg, Glass, Stajan, Freddie Hamilton, and Brower in the top 14.

These seven players offered little to the Flames.

They've been replaced by Valimaki, Trout, Ryan, Neal, Czarnik, Lindholm, Dube. I am not sure Prout has more to offer than Bartkowski, but the other six should offer much more.

I look forward to a more balanced team. Hopefully with better coaching, and hopefully with goaltending that will hold up.

I’m looking forward to all 4 lines being dangerous. Last season, we had one line that “held on”, and another that took too many unnecessary penalties.

I’m hoping for two pp units that punish the opponent to stop teams taking liberties with our players.

And I’m secretly looking forward to oiler losses.

I'm most excited to see Lindholm play with Johnny and Monny, it could take him to the next level and be a great confidence booster.

The second is Valamaki and Hannifin on the blue line. Over the past few years there always seems to be a rookie or young defensemen that really shines and hopefully it is one of these guys.

Seeing the retro jerseys again. I know they only took one year off, but that’s one year too many. IMO it’s the perfect jersey.

Playerwise I think Elias Lindholm excites me most. I wasn’t huge on the trade at first but after watching Lindholm I don’t think I really understood what we were getting. That kid looks good and seems to have chemistry with Johnny and Mony. Probably will be my next jersey.

Also obviously excited to see the returnees as well. Monahan, Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Gio all worth the price of admission. Should probably mention Dube and Valimaki too. Intrigued by them.

I can’t wait to finally get the season going again! Go Flames go!

Honorable mention to the rookies. Every year since the rebuild we have had a rookie that we could be excited about and this year we have 2.

13/14- Monahan
14/15- Gaudreau
15/16- Bennett
16/17- Tkachuk
17/18- Jankowski
18/19- Dube/Valimaki
This is why we will become a competitive team. Next season we should be having Mangiapane and Andersson on the squad full time. That would make it 9 total players in 6/7 years.

Pretty much that exactly, with the hope that we actually have a power play this season.

Except for the Find-A-Way-Flames of '14-15, the team has been boring to watch the last few years, outside of a few streaks.

Even if they don't finish as high as we'd like, it looks like it'll at least be an exciting team. Watching the likes of Valimaki, Dube and Hanifin develop, and seeing all the other newcomers and a healthy Monahan in action will be fun.
