I don’t understand the stance of some people defending what Wilson did. He’s a pos.Hes done this time and time again and suspensions and fines don’t deter the behaviour of predatory hits.

NHL needs to wake T F U!! Time to make an example

Suspension until oppposing player returns to the ice . Money goes to injured player and not into some collection pot . That hit was horse shirt. Wilson’s not stopping this and the game has no place for this .

Should get 15 games. Will likely get 3 or 4.

Do you need to have your head down to score goals?

Can't believe people are justifying his actions.
I am not justifying anything.

I am seriously asking what people are expecting him to do instead.

Repeat offender, he will get suspended for sure.

No clue on the amount of games.

Clearly an attempt to injury in my view, with the match penalty the referees clearly agreed

No not in this fashion. The player should know better.

Match penalty was well deserved, league needs to set an example with this type of hit......

The problem with this kind of hit—apart from contact with the head—is that it requires a windup from a distance to hit with sufficient velocity. That makes it charging in my book. Ryan Reaves’ hit when he ran over and concussed Brodie last season, was also charging, in my opinion.

Hit on Brodie was clean.

By all means hit him, but not full blast to the head.

No it wasn't. Reaves drove into Brodie and on top of that, Reaves also left his feet. At the very least, it should be charging like Rick said.

Rule 42.1 of the NHL rule book makes that hit clearly charging. It wasn’t called but that’s nothing unusual.

Wilson could have kept his arms down ,you can see him straighten up and finish thru.
If he had kept the point of contact at chest height its an amazing hit ,but he straightens up and takes advantage of a player who is bent over.

This won't be popular but you can't fix guys like Wilson with suspensions and fines. Before these teams play again they need to call up their own goons and have them go to the Caps bench and tell Backstrom, Ovi, Kuznetsov that they are coming after them and to thank Tom Wilson.

The only thing that will stop idiots like this are peer consequences, and by peer i mean his own teammates telling him to smarten up.

Can't wait for the NHLPA to "stand up" fir the suspended player and ignore the injured constituent again. Morons.
