A team whose brand is essentially the colour red is not going to release a black third jersey. That's why the heritage classic was also burgundy and yellow rather than the black and yellow of the original tigers jersey.
That teaser is definitely red and yellow.

The Flames did release a black third jersey back in 1998.
Stockton did a couple years ago too.

I know a lot of people hated that jersey, but I freaking loved it. Heck, that jersey was part of the reason why I became a Flames fan in the first place.

The snot jerseys are great for the same reasons the Duck's eggplant jersey and the Coyote's kachina jersey are great.
They are fun, unique, and a little out there. Exactly what an alternate jersey should be.
With that being said, I will only welcome it back if we get redesigned home and away jerseys because I think our current set up is awful.

I was too young to ever see the horse head jerseys in person or on TV, so I’d really like to see them. But I definitely won’t complain if it’s retro jerseys, they really should be our primary jerseys

I don't have a lot of confidence in the Flames' ability to create something visually appealing. They haven't had a hit since 2003/04, with the exception of the retros, which I don't give them credit for.
If they need to use the thirds to get all of the flags, grey, black, script/wordmarks, and other nonsense etc. out of their system, then I'm all for it. As long as that paves the way for a beautiful set of primary home and away jerseys using the team's original colour palette with no gimmicks, flags, or 1990's black.
But they'll probably screw both up. Prove me wrong, Ken King.
