Yay More Interesting farm depth then career AHL'ers! That statement I can get behind.

Hogstrom's contract is kind of interesting. As a 29 year old he is not limited to the ELC, but he still settled for a 2 way deal.

Hogstrom averaged most ice time in the SHL (24:01) during the regular season and 4th most in the playoffs (23:36).
Some out of Sweden are calling it a big loss for Djurgarden

So will Ehliz be the next Marek Hrivik or the next Daniel Pribyl? Let's get some betting going on this.

Sounds like someone who could step into the bottom pair and play 16 minutes a night of mistake free hockey. Solid signing.
Trade Brodie for scoring.

I know nothing about this guy but if he was that much of a sure thing, he’d be in the NHL already.

Good chance Hogstrom is better than Bartkowski. If all he is a cheap 7th dman I don't mind the move

It looks like Hogstrom just signed a 3-year extension with Djurgårdens in February (he was already under contract for next season, so the extension was good through 2022): https://www.difhockey.se/artikel/zgy...ktet-3-ar-till
Strange to see him walk away from that only 4 months later.

Hrivik wasn't a signing from a Euro league, he came from the Rangers.

Kerr says he is going to ask Brad Pascal about Ehliz and Hogstrom among other things.
Interview scheduled for after 5pm on 960, if you want some insight as to what the Flames see in these guys.

Are these guys at least burners? If they don't at least bring speed then I don't really see them bringing much of anything really. No harm though I suppose.

I like that HoG has a little bit of jam to his game and won’t back down from roughstuff

As late as February, he wrote a new three-year contract.
Now Marcus Högström leaves Djurgården and is ready for Calgary Flames.
"I was in a hurry to say I leave, but they understood that," said the 29-year-old to Sportbladet.
After half a year's absence in KHL and the Finnish league, Marcus Högström made a comeback comeback in Djurgården last year.
As late as February, the 29-year-old back signed a new three-year contract with the SHL club and was very excited about his future with most of the champions.
"The question arose, I went home thinking, but then it was sunny what I wanted. We are a top team and I want to take part in our exciting trip, "said Högström, adding:
"I've always been a pet grower when I got to the club, it grew. I care very much about the club and love to live in Stockholm.
"I've never woken me down"
But now it sounds different.
Högström has signed a one-year two-way contract with Calgary Flames , which is confirmed by the club's website .
- It's completely sick. It feels like I can run in maximum speed for several days. Extremely nice feeling in the body, says Högström to Sportbladet.
How will you celebrate?
"Yes, it will not be Ovechkin class, it's hard to beat. But there will be something in any case.
How did this happen to NHL?
- Every season I have had the interests of NHL. Met law in hotel rooms and so on. But it has never been so far. But now it has gone further and this weekend we agreed.
"It's a bit like this all my career has been. I've always come back and I've always fought my fist and struggled. I have never woken myself down.
Got the most playing time
How was it to tell Djurgården that you were leaving?
- I did it on Sunday morning. Had a bit of a stomach over saying that I was leaving, but they had an understanding of it.
Marcus Högström was the player who had the most playing time in Djurgården during the season and was a strong contributing factor to the club coming second in SHL and reaching the semifinal in the final game.
A total of 50 series matches made 23 points (three goals and 20 assists).
Now, only at age 29, he has signed on his first NHL contract.

They are no different than any other prospect in that most likely they wont amount to anything. But across the nhl some of these signings do work out
I see nothing negative about this particularly if the team scouted and identified these guys as players to take a shot with
Don’t understand the negative reaction
