Strong possibility of a cantilever going missing.

I'd try and cut off about 1/4" off every second joist (beam?) that overhangs there. Nothing too noticeable to the eye until they try and do finish around it, and a bunch of them will be misaligned.

They’ve already started to prep for a cantilevered wall. Building regulations are going out on Monday.

How does it look straight from the front, or directly below? Is the section over your fence?
I don't understand what is going on with that gaping hole...

Here’s a shot from just over the fence. You can see a bit of orange which is the pin marking the property line at the back of the house.

kermit's ongoing infill issues
Thought the topic was big enough for it's own thread. I've moved all related posts over. Hope everyone is ok with that.

Nope.
Found out the builder lives in my neighbourhood. He came by with his kids. I would have gone out to speak with him, but I didn’t think it felt right to have that conversation in front of his family.

I've got 2 sawzalls and a circ saw. Or if you want I can put 135 000 volts through the wood in the name of insulation testing!

Problem with that, you're probably torching his property as well.

I haven’t felt this excited since the hardwood flooring repair thread. I still don’t think that ever got resolved! I need closure!

This is crazy. I thought they had to have enough room between houses so firefighters could attack from both sides, and reach the back of the dwelling. Maybe it's only one side

What’s the distance, foundation to the orange pin? If it’s more than a few inches less than 1.2m and the city doesn’t do something significant I’d be lawyering up.
Anything less than 1.2m and they can’t have a single window on that exposure. Well, technically I believe they could do glass block, wired glass or sprinklers, but I’d have to refresh my code on this. It’s a little rusty because usually we just follow the rules.
There’s no way they got a DP approved based on something less than 1.2m so they’ve mislocated their layout at footings and are trying to continue without it being noticed.
Also measure the other sideyard if you can. Maybe they’re not off center but building wider than allowed to get more square footage illegally.
