First game I've gone too all year, tickets were free as nobody wanted them. Arena half empty, nobody was into it. I thought Johnny, Foo, and Gio were the only players in the game in any sort of way. Gillies was hung out to dry. At least 6 times Arizona forwards were simply allowed to skate RIGHT THROUGH THE ENTIRE TEAM to get a quality shot. Defensive zone coverage was awful. The fourth line continues to have its collective head caved in. Lazar was absolutely horrendous. He was noticeable only for the mistakes he made. Whenever we did get any sustained pressure, Gulutzan was sure to smother it by throwing the 4th line out, and almost instantly, the puck would be going the other way. Honestly, the coaching staff has to go. Going back to the beginning of the year, it appeared they had lost the team. It seems even more evident now. But hey, we had 40+ shots, that should be some sort of useless stat worthy reward (regardless of the fact that my fat ass could have stopped most of them). Not to mention the number of times we missed the net all together! The only positive from the whole night was that I stuck it out to the end of the game to boo. I think I should have stayed home.... What a depressing night. #GullyMustGo

2-8 in our last 10. Both wins against the Oilers? I'll take it!

All fair points, but would it kill you to use paragraphs?

Brouwer has to be paying Gulutzan by the minute.

If they’re both not gone next year, it’s management and ownership that can go away.

Shohei Ohtani hit a 3 run dinger in his first at-bat at Angel stadium!

Yes. It’s baseball season. See ya next year Flames.

Who cares if he uses paragraphs. As long as the coaching staff is changed.

Somewhere, there is a wizard who got frustrated about three weeks ago and said, "I don't care if the Flames lose all the other games they play so long as they beat the Oilers."

Well, congratulations, you got your wish. I hope you're happy.

Really, wouldn't it be great to watch the flames in reverse this season? Or maybe start from their next Stanley Cup and watch backwards. That way turning off would be good.

Man that beer leaguer who beaked Brouwer on Twitter sure was a ######, but he was probably right. The guy looks worse than at least half of the guys I play beer league with in Edmonton. So useless out there! We beak the oilers for Lucic but he at least punches faces still, wtf is Brouwer doing?

When the Flames went on their big losing streak, some people were getting worried that they'd be dropping in the standings and the Islanders would potentially be getting a high pick in the Draft.

After Tuesday's games, the standings are falling into place. With the Flames losing, they can't possibly catch any of the teams ahead of them in the standings. With the Rangers losing, they can't possibly catch the Flames (nor can any team below the Rangers).

The only team that could still overtake the Flames is the Hurricanes, who are only 1 point behind the Flames. Calgary's final two games are against Winnipeg and Vegas. Carolina's final two games are against Philadelphia and Tampa. It's quite possible that neither Calgary or Carolina will get another point in the standings.

If the Flames stay ahead of Carolina (or in the event of a tie), the Flames will be in the 12th draft slot. If Carolina overtakes Calgary, the Flames will be in the 11th draft slot.

Either way, the odds will be very low that the pick will move up. The 11th spot will have a 2.5% chance of winning first overall in the lottery and the 12th spot will have a 3.0% chance (those odds will change for the second and third overall picks depending on the results of the first lottery drawing).

If the Flames owned their 1st round pick it would be the perfect ending to a failed season.

Will be interesting for the Islanders owning the 9th and 12th pick. If they really love a guy in the top 5 they could use both to move up or they could trade one for a top forward to help fill the void left by Tavares. Or they just stand pat and take two guys they like in that area with the picks. Will Snow even be the GM?

Yes. I'm sure half the beer leaguers you play with are better then a NHL established player.

That's the most amazing thing. We get 40 shots practically once out of every four games, and yet the product is just horrible to watch. This is Young Guns era boredom.

Its like you've noted, those shots aren't exactly of the dangerous variety. The Flames throw a lot of shots on net. Not necessarily a lot behind them though.

This team is proof positive that Corsi/Fenwick are trash stats.

Maybe a good team will naturally have good advanced stats, but good advanced stats don't predict whether or not a team is good. Playing hockey to just maximize shot attempts is straight up stupid.
