I remember a lot of draft guides and articles from places like FC raved about Point. Weird that they saw it when NHL teams didn't.

The Preds can afford to sit guys like Turris and Josi and keep trucking along. 9 wins in a row for them.

One of his biggest criticisms was his skating in his draft year. Really worked hard with Coach Barb Underhill to really transform his skating. I'm going to assume he got the tag from NHL department's of "not a good enough skater to overcome lack of size in the NHL".

I really thought those teams were finally gonna fall out of the picture over the last couple of seasons, but it just hasn't been the case. It's annoying how they're constantly able to ramp it up just at the right time. Experience plays a big part of it I think. Those teams have all been to the playoffs multiple times and they know exactly what it takes to get there.

Also, let's not forget Vegas coming out of nowhere and ruining it for everyone. Weren't the Flames and Oilers supposed to be battling it out for top spot in the Pacific this year? Sadly it looks like that won't be happening anytime soon.

Tough night for the Panthers. Gourde had an amazing game for Tampa Bay, but most of the other Lightning players were defended against fairly well, and the Panthers carried the bulk of the play. Down 3-1 and then 4-2, they found a way to "claw" their way back into this one. Bjugstad with the hat trick to lead the team, playing well on that top line with Barkov and Dadonov. Unfortunately, Dadonov with the fly by on Point in O.T. leads to the winning goal for the Lightning.

However, the Panthers pick up a point on the road in Tampa Bay, so that should be considered a success to some degree. Bad news is that CBJ and NJ both won, so the Panthers are now 2 points back of a playoff spot. BUT, they have 3 games in hand over those two teams, so all it takes is 1 win in 3 to tie it up.

I hope that they can keep up this level of play. If they make the post-season, you never know how far you can go when you're going into the playoffs red hot.

What is it with the Bruins playing these high scoring games? Their GAA is taking a small beating, but, they win 6-5 in OT. Marchand with the GWG and 5 points, Mantha gets 4 points in a losing cause. Detroit dominated the face off draws 42-21.

The BJs get a big win, 4-1 over the Knights. Korpisalo was excellent in net as he faced 38 shots in the win. The Knights have been slumping a little.

The Bhawks get the early OT winner from Toews to beat the Avs 2-1. Too bad the Avs got a point. It took just 9 seconds to win it. A radio announcer brought up a terrible stat, it was the same amount of time Skrudland scored against the Flames in the 1986 SCF game.

The Hurricanes got blown out of Minnesota 6-2. There were 3 SHUTOUTS. The Ducks 4-0 win, Gibson with 36 saves. Holtby gets pulled after 9 shots and 3 goals.

Steve Mason with 31 saves in the Jets 3-0 win. The Predators win 2-0, Rinne makes 26 saves.
