WTF?!
Glass in over Mangiapane/Lazar is bad enough, but he's also trying out the Brouwerplay again while starting the colder goalie?

I think Glen is done in Calgary.

It's like he's coaching to get fired on purpose at this point. I can't make sense of it. These are the exact opposite moves I would have done in order to give the team the best chances at a win (start Lazar, Gillies and Mangiapane over Glass/Stewart/Rittich, and keep Brouwer off the PP)

See, this is what kills me about this organization. They’re more concerned about getting Nice Guy Matt Stajan a silver stick than winning hockey games. As if paying him $30 million to be a 4th line plug for the last thousand years wasn’t enough.

He’s pulling a costanza. He will get a raise soon.

Gulutzan... what else can be said.

I'm fine with the flames realizing they have to ice the bottom 6 that are more 'energy' lines with no real potential to score. But at least put out guys that can be effective in that role.

I'm fine with Glass in for that reason. But why the hell does Stajan get to play over Lazar, a young player who can skate, can play center, and who can play an energy line type role??

Glass - Lazar - Hathaway

It's not the sexiest line, but those are guys that can all forecheck, hit, and create some havoc. I suppose Stajan is needed for his elite PK skills according to our genius coaches.

I'm also really really unshocked to see that during the most important stretch of the season, where every PP opportunity and minute is crucial, Troy frigin brouwer will be ahead of jankowski/frolik on PP.... I'm sure he'll be a big part of our PK.

just really solid/smart decisions yet again by the coaches.

Plays well against Calgary. That's kind of all that matters.

Did he #### the bed against someone else? Great. How did he do against the Flames the last several times they met? Oh.

We know that Stewart can at least score a few goals given a chance.

But yes, Ferland and Versteeg back soon please.
Good point. Forgot what the other options are at this point. It's sad when you could make a case that Of bottom forwards 5 out of 6 could be placed on waivers.

I am taking donations to supply me a seat behind the flames bench so I can yell at Gulutzan about his personnel selections, Non-stop. My first question will be between the national anthems:
"HEY GULLY! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, WHEN YOU HAVE AN IDEA...DO THE OPPOSITE!"

Nobody has the balls to make un-sexy decisions in this organization. As bad as Hartley was and to be clear I do not want him back, he had balls to make decisions. Gulutzan makes the "safe" no feelings getting hurt roster decisions.

Even Tre doesn't have balls to make bold moves with players. He's only done what Sutter did, bring in "big name" acquisitions for draft picks. At least Feaster had the balls to trade Iggy and Bouwmeester. Even making a stupid offer for Ryan O'Reilly that almost hurt the franchise, he was still trying to do something.

That is why we will always be mediocre.

head scratcher ....

Shore must still be sick. Is Lazar banged up? Sick? Otherwise I'm at a loss for what they're doing with the lineup tonight.

What garbage lines. We used to have a really decent-looking bottom 6, now that's got to be bottom 5 in the NHL.

Was Shore actually sick when he was acquired? He seemed perfectly fine in that tv interview during Av's game.

Let's start throwing the lines in the blender:

Gaudreau - Stajan - Hathaway
Tkachuk - Jankowski - Brouwer
Glass - Monahan - Frolik
Bennett - Backlund - Stewart

Fudge you Gulutzan

With all the pissed off fans on here, the irony will be a Flames victory tonight.

Haha. A buddy and I came up with the idea to get seats behind the Flames bench and then wear a big sign named "Gulutzan's Anger Translator", while humorously screaming my lungs out at the boys after every sentence.

I'm not a GG hater like a lot of the vocal posters here, but unless Lazar is injured or did something to piss off the the coach in his previous game, I don't understand why he wouldn't draw in. Also, don't see how Rittich is deserving of a start over Gillies after the Colorado game.
