FFF - you made the fatal error of demoting Bennett.
Brouwer is not a liability defensively. It's actually a positive for him IMO. He's not as good as Tkachuk but it's a small margin.
That said, I see no reason to move Bennett in favour of Tkachuk, when the 3M line had such a great game against the Avs.

Lolz
Didn’t even mention Bennett now did I?
I just find it very amusing that Brouwer would be given the defensive responsibility of shutting down mackinnons line. Youkinda need tkachuk and backlund in that role tonight, I wouldn’t be breaking them up

I don't think you needed to. Your clear preference is for Bennett on the top line over anyone else, including Ferland or Tkachuk. Nothing wrong with that.

In a vacuum I probably prefer tkachuk up there to be honest but within the context of this team and having a solid shutdown line I think it’s better that he plays with backlund
As for ferkland, I just don’t think he’s a true top liner long term in this league, nothing against him I just think Bennett’s ceiling is higher and ferkland is better suited to a third line role as he is more of a crash and bang winger.
But yeah we all have our opinions and we’ll see what Bennett does with this opportunity while ferkland is out.
I think best case for this season is you can rotate Bennett and ferland into that spot to give a spark when needed and depending on the game and how they are going. I think bennett gaining some of the coaches confidence in him in that role would really help us ensure that we can keep Johnny and mony going for the rest of the year which is basically critical to making the playoffs

6 of next 7 against non playoff teams, including 3 against the bottom feeders of the league.
If the Flames are going to make a surge, it's going to be now. Anything less than 11 points in the next 7 games should be seen a major disappointment.

If Flames can actually shoot on net rather than shooting wide, they'll win.

Poor Jankowski. Wow, that 3rd line is awful. A borderline 4th liner with limited offensive upside and a washed up has been who is probably gonna be out of the league by this time next year.
So is the 4th, but they are playing pretty well lately.
Once healthy, I'd do
Ferland - Jankowski - Shore
Lazar - Stajan - Brouwer (if it ain't broken..)

is this the actual line-up or what you want?
Its pretty much what i would do. THe bottom 6 is going to be gross now matter how you do it . Might as well load up on first 2 lines.

Shore, Versteeg, Ferland will sure help.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Ferland/Bennett
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Bennett-Jankowski-Versteeg/Shore
Versteeg/Brouwer-Shore/Stajan-Lazar/Stewart
Hathaway/Lazar

Agreed. Would also go a long way towards team confidence to go on a run like that.

If anyone wants to pay for me to fly to England this year, I can hopefully get the Flames on a long winning streak. Last year I missed the whole long winning streak cause I was there

I mean as long as they aren’t on the ice in the last ten minutes of a close game everything should be fine.
