Sounds like he thought he could get a better deal on deadline day like he has done in the past and nothing was there. Not learning from past mistakes, could’ve gotten picks if it was a month or two ago. Poor asset management but not surprising at all.

Yeah, this is one of those instances where you don't trade the guy as to not dictate how future deals go down. "Picks weren't available to us." To me that should mean you don't trade the player. Much like the Cammi situation a few years ago, it's better to get nothing than it is to get ripped off. Now other GMs know Benning will settle in the end, if they didn't already.
