Sportsclubstats agrees with you, all OT options are worse than either team winning in regulation.
I also am not that worried about the sharks. The Flames starting on the road is probably a good thing, and the shards are the California team that seems like the best matchup for the Flames. Maybe LA is also ok... anyone but Anaheim really.
