Were they sent down? I fully expected Glass to draw in for one or both of the upcoming Ducks and Oilers games. Convoy also suggested that might happen in one of his interviews today.

No Smith - No hope. He's needed if this is going to make a final run for it.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Mike Smith on the ice for a second straight day at the Saddledome. Took some shots from goalie coach Jordan Sigalet.

Versteeg also skating as he ramps up for a return. #Flames

Was just listening to Steinberg and Krahn on 960.
Steinberg said Smith moved pretty gingerly on the ice.
Krahn said he suspects that Smith is a long way away still.

You could tell he was a ways off when they showed the footage of him on the ice in last nights game. He did not move his bottom half of body at all. They were giving the softest muffin shots to blocker and glove sides.

I would say min of 2 weeks from now.

We really need some positive news in regards to Smith.

Lots of mutterings from connection people that it might be pretty serious. Derek Wills had some comment on the pre-game yesterday about not knowing IF Smith will return this season at all. CP poster chummer said Gillies recently called the injury gruesome, etc.

Would that really be that surprising if he were out for the rest of the year? The way he went down and reacted it looked like his groin exploded.

I have a feeling its either a torn muscle or something that is going to require surgery.

If the Flames drop the next couple games and fall out of the race. I bet you'll see him end up on the long term injury and will be shut down for the year.

Got that feeling also. From the start he has had that "Gio injury from years ago" vibe. Even Gio admitted, that night when he went out for pre-game, was all a sherard, so other gm's would not raise prices on D men replacements.

I think Tre tried to find a veteran goaltender to help out, but realised all the ones being offered were crap.
