Yep. As far as I'm concerned, top two lines right now should be:
Gaudreau Monahan Tkachuk
Bennett Jankowski Ferland

There were extenuating circumstances on that one. That was like one of the happiest days of his life.
I remember that game, that was so awesome.

Maybe we need to move a second rounder for Baertschi, we know he’s good for his first 3 games in Flames silks! (Still injured?)
Stone did well in his first few games.
Or they trade Lazar and then trade back for him. 3 points in 4 games. Then trade him again. Similar for Shinkaruk.

Scoring Winger
With 10 dmen on the Stockton roster, there has to be a NHL dman + AHL Dman prospect headed for a scoring winger.... Has to be, trading from strength and plethora of Dmen. Maybe multiple AHL D prospects for a scoring winger... Something has gotta give...

The great thing with the current PP alignment is that GMT are getting some playing time together so hopefully they can click 5v5.
I understand putting Ferland on the wing instead of Hathaway, but I don't know if I am ready to make the change.

Taking a while to get to 5000
If (when) Freddie clears, if he's traded after his new team can just send him right to the minors correct?
So what are the odds its Dougie & Freddie on the move in a day or two?

Glad that we’re giving our kids a chance to shine at the NHL level because Freddie was clearly a replacement level player who wasn’t effective enough when he was in the line up. But can’t help think how much this will affect Dougie off ice and possibly on ice with this demotion.
Dougie in an interview said he’s a homebody and losing his roommate, best friend and brother has to effect him personally and could hamper his on ice play as well.

I get it, being close with family is important. But Damn if sending freddy down negatively impacts Dougie play, it's time for Dougie to grow the eff up.

As for sending Freddie down, I'm sure it's to get him some game playing time. Dude's not played a game in a long time.
If it does so happen that they're making room for a trade, well cool beans. Doubt it but it would be cool.
That leaves only Lazar and Bart left alone in the pressbox now. Maybe they're cutting down on the popcorn budget.

Gaudreau-Monahan-Tkachuk
Bennett-Backlund-Ferland
Hathaway-Jankowski-Mangiapane
Lazar/Jagr-Hrvik/Stajan-Brouwer
The third line has a history together. Backlund and Bennett could click and ferland won't hurt them. The fourth is the fourth.

I like the third line currently, but if you switch it up might as well try and keep the whole "pairs" things to help minimize all the switching.
Gaudreau-Monahan -Bennett
Tkachuk-Backlund -Ferland
Hathaway-Jankowski-Mangiapane
4th line is just a blender at this point.

Looks good to me. And if the top three lines are clicking by the time Frolik comes back, put him on the "Czeching" line with Jagr and Hrvik.
(I realize Hrivik is from Slovakia but apparently the languages are similar
)

This move could be a setup to a trade but I suspect it is to being someone else up from the farm Hrivik or Klimchuk.
Dougie and Freddie to Toronto for Nylander or Marner and maybe a 2nd?

I am no Lazar supporter but with the right linemates you could at least have an energy/checking line.

Or at least he could take a dumb penalty when trying too hard.

Lazar looked good when he was playing with Bennett earlier in the year. Kid is still young and quite honestly I don't think he's been given a real chance to develop. It's almost as if when he came to Cgy as a cast off and so he's still getting treated like one. He was never really plugged in last season because we were on a second half roll and then when he gets to play, he goes on the 4th line.
Gulutzan always talks a big game about confidence yet he buries a young player on the 4th line when not being a healthy scratch. How do you find confidence from that especially when you came in to the league as a promising player.
