And in 1985-86, when did that win come?

ETA: His first season he got 2 wins in 8 tries. But his second, he got none. Third, he got one. Fourth, one (but won via own goal in POs). 6 wins in 86-87 (and quits).

Look at his W/L record in his first two seasons and tell me no one would have been calling for his BP head in those years. 32-34-14 and 34-32-14.

I happen to think Johnson was the best coach in Flames history with only Sutter as a rival (I think Crisp rode Johnson's coat tails and had the most stacked team possible). But his record shows the virtue of patience.
