So presumably until Jagr is ready for game action, Brouwer continues on Bennett's right with Lazar or Hamilton drawing in on the fourth line. Looks like Jagr will bump Brouwer down once he's good to go, at least to start.

I still have to wonder, looking at that lineup, what the plan is to get Jankowski playing. Someone has to go.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
#Flames lines today:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Ferland
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
Versteeg-Bennett-Jagr
Glass-Stajan-Brouwer

Lazar, Hamilton extra
How to improve this:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Bennett - Jagr
Stajan - Lazar - F. Hamilton

That's a better roster. Two simple changes to the 4th line. No additional trades or waivers required. Just common freaking sense.

I hope not. I'm fine with brouwer on the 4th line, but he brings absolutely nothing to the 3rd line.

Interesting fact, but the point is moot. You don't send Tkachuk down when there is a perfectly good Hathaway there ready to go instead

Honestly I could see them having a chat with Stajan. Either we move you to the wing or we have to shop you around.

Stajan has been nothing but class here, so I think he's deserves some goodwill from management. I would rather him play with wing than Brouwer, he can help Jankowski learn the ins and outs of the job.

Man Jagr looks great in those short clips. Pretty quick for the old fella.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
Mike Smith is not on the ice for #Flames practice.

You can see in one of the videos there is another goalie wearing all white - not Smith.

His back is sore. 35 year olds have a hard time carrying 20 other guys on their back.

Clearly we up'd Smith's value and we're trading him to Vegas so they can have another goalie to waive.

Saturday actually.

Todays deadline has passed.

If I were to guess, it's Gulutzan sending a message that Smith was the only player who worked hard last night.

...or, he's concussed...

Based on Jagr's comments yesterday, I was of the belief that he would take some time to get up to game speed but, based on this video, it appears he has already attained the intensity of last night's lineup.

Points don't get much more moot than whether Tkachuk is AHL-eligible.
