Hudler isn't Finnish.

I think the poster meant the author of the article, but it looks Swedish to me.

I also find it funny that this all comes from a former Lady Byng winner.

The TSN article links to a TMZ-style Czech website. Lots of interesting tabloid fodder there:

Does anyone have that picture of Hudler wearing his Giordano "Pigeon" Shirt?

I remember seeing it on here a while ago. His award acceptance speech just made me remember it haha

All kidding aside, can the Flames send Big Ern to try and help?

He's always been known as a guy who likes to party. Threatening a flight attendant (or murdering one based on my browser's translation) isn't great, but he seems like so much fun that I can't really hold it against him.

I dont know man....this seems like it surpassed all reason.

I've been in pretty rough shape on a plane but usually that means I'm keeping to myself.

Acting like a certifiable lunatic on a plane is a great way to get your ass kicked.

Ignoring whether not they can, I think the bigger question would be whether not this is part of an ongoing pattern of drug and alcohol abuse or just a one off. Other than some rumours and hearsay about Hudler liking to party we don’t really know for sure that he has any addiction problems.

Starting to look like Jiri may never recapture the Lady Byng.

No doubt there are a few guys like Hudler on every team. While they're still playing, they tend to be a bit more discreet with their shenanigans. Once they're out of the NHL, the restraints come off.

How does a player finish the 2015 season with 76 points, the Lady Byng, and end up washed out of the league, coked up, threatening murder, and pissing in public on an airplane?

I think the later may have to do with the former?

Just conjecture, but maybe this has something to do with his being left off the Czech Olympic team in 2014.

Good old TSN. "Former Red Wing and Flame Jiri Hudler....." Picture of him wearing a Panthers jersey.

Sad to see anybody with an addiction problem. If the article has any merit, hopefully he figures out his off ice issues. Sad to see an Athlete living most of our dreams and literally pissing it away.

We should keep in mind that it's possible he was just on a bender. This doesn't necessarily mean he has an addiction. I don't think it's fair to speculate that.
