Good signing, Good number in my opinion. Kids got loads of skill and potential, and seems like a good kid to boot.

I'm sure the Leafs looked at Eichel's contract yesterday with intrigue, as it likely establishes the possible floor for Mathews next deal. And then this signing, may help establish a very, VERY envious floor for Marner/Nylander. If they can get Mathews at $10/yr, and Marner/Nylander at ~$6.5/yr each, that would look pretty amazing in my opinion.

There's risk here, but if it works out it's a good price (not a crazy bargain IMO though - just fair for everyone).

Your last few posts in signing threads show a gross misunderstanding of the current market value of top young players. This might've been an overpayment a few years ago but not after the McDavid and Draisaitl precedence has been set

This is a solid signing for the Jets. Ehlers can play.

Way better value than the Draisaitl deal imo.

If he keeps getting better i think it be a steal but right now i do think its a tad bit of an over payment .Laine going to do the Cuba "show me the $$$$$

He is no JG...not proven it yet anyway

three times over 60 points and one season at 78...he got 61 after missing 10 games in an "off year" last season.

you aren't a 70-80 point player until you actually do it
