So Habs apparently made same offer as Stars days ago. Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.
So which is it?

What's the take home difference between Montreal and Dallas? I'd imagine he walks away with a lot more money.

Yes, I would imagine the taxes in MTL have him going home with less when compared to DAL.

Just spoke with a rep from Habs senior management, says same exact offer of 5 years, $6.25M per was on the table from them several days ago.

I can confirm Habs made same offer that Alex Radulov signed with Stars, and it was made prior to July 1.

I think the Oilers make it in with ease. It's them, Anaheim, and Calgary for 1st in the division. No one else in the Pacific is even close to those three teams in my opinion.
I think the Sharks and Blues could both be out, and I think Chicago could be a surprise team to be on the bubble. I think they've massively downgraded their team this off-season.

Perfect player to have on a one year show me contract, stay as far away as possible on a long term deal. Stars did the Canadiens a favor giving him the same contract (and of course more money with tax considerations).

Why would Radulov lie about that? Didn't want to piss off Habs fans?

I dont think Radulov is afraid of pissing off anyone. Pissing people off from fans, coaches, teammates and organizations and the occasional Fantasy Drafter ( )is kind of his thing.

He has said his agent handled all the negotiations. Who knows?

Dallas also could have made this offer on what, the 26th of June if they put it in code. For equal money he's probably keeping an extra miliion plus per year in Dallas.

Also, is Julius Honka close to making it? Could help them in d depth.

Dallas fans think Honka is close
Dallas if they are close at the deadline will also make a move for a d man so I don't think they need to worry about it right now

Full no-move clause for the first 3 seasons for Alexander Radulov. Modified no-trade clause for the last 2 seasons. #tvasports #stars

Bergevin and Poile say entirely opposite things about what led to talks resulting in the Weber for Subban trade.

https://capfriendly.com/post_tax_calculator/6250000
According to that with equal $6.25M salaries: - Montreal has an estimated tax rate of 52.94%, leaving a take home salary of $2,941,459
- Dallas has an estimated tax rate of 38.90%, leaving a take home salary of $3,818,830
A difference of $877,371, or $4.39M over the 5 year contract.

These deals never work. For whatever reason it seems much more effective adding impact forwards at the TD than top-four defensemen.
