I believe in the Jays.
|
I'd be amused if we picked up Cammy... all Calgary Flame GM's are contractually obligated to acquire Mike Cammalleri. Sutter did it, Feaster did it, now it's Treliving's turn.

No to Cammalleri. Great guy, but Versteeg is the same player. Flames need a BIG skilled winger.

**Terrible** phrasing. And that would be his *third* time here.
Seriously, no need for the graphic allusion.

This is actually not true. They still have Hayes' cap hit of $866k this year and next, plus the actual buyout payment itself.
It's the Chiapet gift that keeps on giving...

We were all quick to dump on Chiarelli and for good reason.
But did Sweeney botch the value of Eriksson? Couldn't they have traded him the deadline before he was UFA for a haul and instead chose to keep him for their attempt to make the playoffs? I can't remember exactly.
Be frustrating to be a BOS fan with the way their GMs seem to squander assets.

Didn't the Panthers give up a lot in the expansion draft in order to be able to protect Jokinen?

He was left unprotected.
Florida's protected list was:
Aleksander Barkov (F)
Nick Bjugstad (F)
Jonathan Huberdeau (F)
Vincent Trocheck (F)
Aaron Ekblad (D)
Alex Petrovic (D)
Mark Pysyk (D)
Keith Yandle (D)
James Reimer (G)
and the Marchessault exposure was supposedly done to entice Vegas to take Reilly's contract

Cammalleri put up 38 points in 42 games in 2016 and that was on a team with putrid offense in New Jersey.
Not saying I want him back, but he's not that far removed from being productive.

Gritty too, he actually appears to be a decent fit. Would be cheap and effective.

Cammalleri's daughter had some health issues last season, could be one of the reasons he wasn't as productive. I would love to see him back, but I'm biased as he's my favourite player.
