Me thinks some payback for the stampede stabbing (murder) committed by the victim...

Well, I'm going to guess everyone pronounces it "Bobahan", regardless of whether you grew up there. I also went there as a kid -- just wanted to know if it was an inside joke or something I missed.

Would you post "Marbrow" instead of "Marlborough"?

Is Bobahan pronounced Boba-hawn? or Bob-ay-han? I keep saying Boba-hawn in my head and that is nothing near "Bob Bay-han" that I assume it should be.

Me too. I was raised in Penbrooke Meadows. Even back in the early 80s, we called it Bobahan. And we used Bobahan as a landmark too -- like "let's meet at the tennis courts by Bobahan after school". I never even figured out it was named after some person called Bob Bahan until much later in life after I had moved away and was driving by one day and noticed the sign on 52nd St. Who was Bob Bahan anyway? Search on the internet turns up nothing on the person, just the aquatic centre.

It has nothing to do with race. There are gang members that hang out there. I guess you should just shut up and say nothing so your not racist though hey SJW. It's obvious when someone has gang tattoos on their face they are probably in a gang. There is a squad car at least 3 times a week there. I drive past every day.

They had to close that 7/11 because of all the hold ups. My brother in law lives behind it. Every store that's opened in that space doesn't last long.

Yeah last time I was there I thought both the ones on the corner of 8th and 44th, and 8th and 52nd were still open. Unless they used to have another one somewhere around there, which is possible because there seems to be a 7-11 on every other corner in that area

That one has been a variety of convenience stores over the past few years. I'm guessing it's just a bad location.
