Simpson is really waving his Oiler pompoms tonight.

If Ritchie was smarter he'd be a heck of a player.

Getzlaf is ridiculous. Now if only he could score.

Oilers have no answer for the Getzlaf line. Talbot is the only reason it's still 0-0.

Getzlaf should have 4 goals already, puck is just following him around the ice.

Getzlaf could have had 2 or 3 goals by himself already.

Getzlaf wants a new stick.

It's the stick's fault.

God I love that. The mental game.

Man, how do they not score there. Dominating but not enough shots.

Without Talbot how bad are the Oilers?

The longer this goes without an Anaheim goal the more I worry about Talbot stealing one.

Just should have been a penalty
Here are the criteria:

Quote:
There are four (4) specific conditions that must be met in order for the Referee to award a penalty shot for a player being fouled from behind.

They are:

(i) The infraction must have taken place in the neutral zone or attacking zone, (i.e. over the puck carrier’s own blue line);

(ii) The infraction must have been committed from behind;

(iii) The player in possession and control (or, in the judgment of the Referee, clearly would have obtained possession and control of the puck) must have been denied a reasonable chance to score (the fact that he got a shot off does not automatically eliminate this play from the penalty shot consideration criteria. If the foul was from behind and he was denied a “more” reasonable scoring opportunity due to the foul, then the penalty shot should be awarded);

(iv) The player in possession and control(or, in the judgment of the Referee, clearly would have obtained possession and control of the puck) must have had no opposing player between himself and the goalkeeper
I'd say those were all satisfied.

Hate to say it but this game has the smell of a 2-1 Oilers win with Talbot making 50 saves.

Amazing pressure by the Ducks' PP, but they come up empty again. Have a bad feeling their lack of finish is gonna come back to bite them in the arse.

Hughson says Russell had a tremendous kill - the Ducks had possession for about 1:50 in their end.

Classic Kris Russell Shift, make incredible shot blocks out of desperation; don't clear the puck, make more incredible shot blocks out of desperation. Repeat as necessary.

Uh oh. This looks just like game two with the Oilers getting dominated and Talbot standing on his head. This formula somehow works for the Oilers. If the Oilers get the first goal this game's over.
