He's ethnically Jewish, Judaism is an ethno-religion. You can convert to Judaism but you can't become ethnically Jewish, think of Jews in the sense that they are a people who are ethnically related but also created their own religion. Conversion to Judaism doesn't make you an ethnic Jew just like how converting to Catholicism doesn't make me Irish, it's just the Jewish people also created their own religion which people can convert too.There are different ethnic sects in Judaism with Ashkenazim being the most predominant ethnic sect. Ho-Sang is ethnically Jewish while obviously being a very mixed race individulal. Never thought I would have this discussion on CP lol. It's heavily debated weather Jewish claims by African communities are actually ethnically Jewish or have any genetic relation to the Levant region. Research done on Jewish genealogy is quite interesting considering how Jews were dispersed throughout the entire world in the diaspora. Very complex subject

Many Russians have Jewish ancestry but converted during the pogroms in the early 20th century. Considering Jews were persecuted a variety of different times in Russia during the Middle Ages up until the Bolshevik Revolution it wouldn't surprise me if he had some Jewish ancestry. Would need a DNA test but he looks like my cousin lol

Why is this moronic thread even allowed to exist? An obvious troll registers here 10 years ago and all of a sudden starts four equally stupid threads on one day and everyone is happy to oblige and be trolled. A simple Google search would have answered the genuine curiosity. Is this to compile a collective Schindler's list of hockey players? To save them? To admire them? To hate them? Seriously, what difference does player's ethnicity make for anything?

The thread is mildly interesting though. I had no clue Cammy was Jewish. I thought he was pure Italian Catholic.

I don't take offense. It's actually quite interesting to know who's Jewish.
Interesting factoid, the entire command crew of the Enterprise was Jewish. Shatner, Nimoy and Kelley. The Starfleet logo should have been a star of David. lol
