Getzlaf and Perry have been the one constant since 2006 and they always play well against the Flames.

Sucks to lose on such a flukey goal. Flames played really well for the most part. All they had to do was get it to OT and they could have likely won this game with their magic OT juice. And now we head into the heart of darkness on Tuesday, ugh... Not sure I like our chances.

Sadly the Ducks absolutely own us no matter what we try to do. Seems like even in the games where we play really well like tonight, we still end up with a loss due to one tiny mistake and a pure fluke of a goal. So f'n frustrating. I think it's safe to say that we should avoid the Ducks in round 1 at all costs.

Bart was the only guy on the play to make a good effort and play decent defence.
I agree. But as I said in the game thread, it was just so damned frustarting when he fanned on the puck to start the whole thing.

That stupid clearing attempt that Getzlaf picked off was all on Bartkowski. Yes Gaudreau let his man go free but no stupid turnover, no goal. He skated hard all night but the little mistakes were the different for that pairing.

Star players need to play both ends of the ice. I can't believe he just skated away from his man on a broken up 2 on 2.

Gaudreau isn't likely expecting that rebound on that shot, he is looking to turn the play the other way. Elliott played a great game but not on that last shot

Gotta beat the California teams down the stretch especially on a back to back night coming into your rink.

If I am the coaching staff or a leader on this team, I am more than disappointed, I am angry with this game and overall effort tonight. This should not happen.

Ducks get a LOT of bounces against the Calgary Flames it seems, and at the most opportune times. The occasions on which the Flames have managed to beat them have been because they've managed to outscore them in a river hockey game.

Need to figure out how to win the tight ones against this team specifically.

Getzlaf and Perry can't get over the proverbial hill fast enough.

Gotta answer dirt with dirt.

Playoff spot clinched, against potential first round matchup? Take the supplemental discipline, soften them up.

I'm usually a stringently by the book guy, but it is obvious the league is not going to do a thing about the lopsided penalties. for 75 games the Flames haven't been able to push back against that because it would jeopardize a playoff spot. But now? Right now? Get some swagger back in your game and answer stick work with stick work, even if it means you lose the game.

Let Kesler play through a broken wrist in the first round, see how he likes the slashes then. If it costs Alex Chiasson a 2 game suspension and Freddy Hamilton or Hathaway get some warmup minutes before the playoffs, so be it. Let the NHL enforce the rules if they want to.

It is apparent that the Flames need to play almost mistake-free to beat a team like the Ducks. They can do it but its hard.
Yep, Bart's errors came from playing offensive hockey (mistake will happen once and a while, and he had one misfire that led to a huge turnover) and from forwards playing beer league style and leaving the zone for the 90 foot break out, hail mary pass.

He played well tonight, just had a couple bad breaks. Our forwards lost that game, and specifically Gaudreau lost us that game.

He is to blame way more. He does what he is supposed to and we get at least point tonight.

That goal isn't on Bart at all IMO. He made up for the fanned shot.

Ok it was partially but he didn't force Bartkowski to forget how to shoot the puck. Bart is a mistake waiting to happen and is a fringe NHLer because of that. Turnover machines kill you in the playoffs

Hot damn I hate the Ducks! I wish Bieksa noting but bothersome colds and flu's. Kessler you deserve marriage threatening snoring and halitosis. Perry you bottom dweller your post nasal drip will never end if I had any say.

Worst 2 minutes I've seen to end a game like that. They should be ashamed after the game Elliott put up to give them a chance. Bart's gaff was unfortunate, but he's one of the last I'm blaming the loss on.

But I'll still put this team against anyone in the league.
