Yes. Particularly for the Oilers.

I don't get this at all. Budaj is having a great year in Quick's absence with a .917 SV% and a 2.12 GAA. Bishop looks like a downgrade with a .911 SV% and 2.55 GAA.

Maybe they think Bishop will turn things around in the Sutter system?

Weird for LA to spend the assets unless Quick isn't ready... but he looked great yesterday.

You'd think Bishop will largely ride the pine.

Either way, at one point earlier in the season I would have had some mild interest but Elliot is playing better now than Bishop has all season.

I'm fine rolling with our current tandem. I think they're both playing well and spending assets for a lateral move at Goalie isn't a prudent move right now.

Maybe Tampa is the buyer here, and wants to see if Budaj fits with their system for next year.

only way it makes sense.

I expect that he will. And maybe the market just opened up for MAF

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Yeah this seems like a really lateral move by LA unless JQ tweaked his groin again last night or something like that.

Bishop is good, but he doesn't help their anemic offense.

Weird trade as it sits right now.

LA is in MIN tomorrow night, and CGY the next. If they lose both games, do they trade Bishop on Wednesday?

Thank for this AC, this makes a little more sense now. That is a lot of back to backs in the next little while.

Would be awesome to see Budaj go on a run in Tampa and have LA falter.

I guess LA technically will not be playing a "back up" in any of the 4 games against the Flames?

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Tampa Bay will retain some salary in the Bishop trade with the Kings.

If I'm Lombardi, I would. Kings are on a razor's edge.

Not up.to speed on cernak, but seems like spare parts with Budaj as the prize.

Seems like an offer the Flames could have easily topped!

They must be happy with their current tandem

So does it look like there won't be any overpaying GM's this deadline? It appears Bishop didn't bring back much, though I know nothing about Cernak.
