I know that we're all ready to write-off Wideman's hockey career, but it's totally possible that he'll play better on a different team or system.

I mean, Iginla still had 30- and 29-goal seasons after we traded him. We thought Justin Schultz was KHL-bound until he got traded to Pittsburgh and got another NHL contract.

In that light, it's possible that another team could value Wideman as a serviceable NHL defenseman and be willing to trade (something) for him. We aren't too picky on the return, but it doesn't mean he will never play NHL-level hockey.

Wideman has interest around the league. Wideman to SJ for a 4th is something I could see.

But Wideman is not comparable to either of those players. No one was writing Iginla off. Schultz much younger and still had potential to improve.

Just need to find the team that wants to get older and slower (youth and speed are soooo overrated) and Tre can call them up.

Luckily there's still a misconception around the league that Wideman is a "serviceable top 4 defenseman". A team in the east desperate for offence from the blue line, who hasn't done due diligence, might think they're getting the 2013 Wideman, or think he's a bit of a reclamation project.

Let the bidding wars commence! ...

The difference between the Oilers and the Flames this year is the 8 points we gifted them by not showing up to any of those games.

I know we are suppose to bash the Oilers at every chance, but I would take Larsson on the Flames easily.

Obviously. Was poking fun more than anything with that post.

SHo͝oSH...you're not suppose to say things like this, an Oiler fan might be lurking somewhere in here.

Yet, Friedman reported otherwise. I want to believe Elliott, but my logic suggests he is wrong.

The article and links do not support the headline. Refers only to a Francis article.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Right now I believe Friedman is more hooked in than Duhatchek. Just because.

It doesn't really say that except for the link to the Francis article from two days ago. Yet Friedman (who's actually plugged in) disagrees
