Since he's coming from Hockey Purgatory can anyone speak on him?

4th defenceman so far I gleam. Offensive? Stay at home? RHD to pair with Brodie or a left shot and we can move Brodie back? How does he feel about eating kittens?

Now if Treliving can get a 3rd or something similar (even a 5th) for Wideman, then it will be awesome.

Stone has looked slow and not particularly agile from what I have seen from him this year.

Not sure what to make of this. I DO like the flames have brought in 2 defenders in the last week.

The Flames don't have to protect him unless they re-sign him, right?

I guess the league won't tolerate gentleman agreements, so it'll be interesting how they handle this. I just can't see them go 4+4.

Say what you want about Treleving, but he's very aware of the issues with this team, and has done everything except mortgaging the team's future to make it happen.

Our Defenceman pairings have improved tremendously. Clearly Kulak, Wotherspoon, Jokipakka and Wideman were not able to get it done.

And just to be clear, that trade call between ARI and CGY has not yet been completed.

Stone's a really solid defenseman who's really tough on forecheckers. I actually bought a ticket to the Coyotes game a week ago just to watch him (we lost 5-0, whyyy) and he was stifling our forwards all game. Good for Treliving.

Now what number will he wear? 26 is Wotherspoon's NHL number.

Stay at home I believe. He's big and strong, and just slightly below average mobility-wise. He only eaten 3 kittens this year, so I don't think he's big on the kitten eating.

This.

Actually not a huge fan but this gives us 24 games to see what he brings on our roster, at a very reasonable price.

So we got Dougie's brother here, any chance we can get Stone's brother too?

A man can dream, right?

Yeah, he doesn't turn 27 until June. Gives the Flames a good amount of games to see if he helps and maybe sort out a new deal post-expansion draft.

If it does, let's hope it backs up and tries again until it hits him.

Wotherspoon can stay in the AHL, hasn't lived up to expectations at all. Stone gets that number imo

What's the cap? Do the flames have room for him as we speak?

I love the timing of this deal as well. I hope we can land Landeskog in the next few days to top it off. We have 4 games against LA between February 28th and April 6th - that's huge. Going into that Feb. 28th game with the defense much stronger than it has been all season is a massive boost.

Treliving continues to deliver when it comes to trades.
