1. Gilbert Perreault - was the first player I liked after immigrating to Canada as a kid. He was soooo fast and exciting to watch.
2. Joe Mullen - I liked his story. He was small (like me), learned to skate later on in life (again like me),wasn't afraid to go to the more "difficult areas" of the ice (like me) and was a very skilled player (we couldn't have differed more ). He was a big factor in me becoming a Flames fan.
3. Orest Kindrachuk - this one is a bit odd. He was a smaller, defensive minded center that played between Dave Shultz and Don Saleski. He never fought a lot like his linemates; he just went out and played responsible hockey. I just seemed to relate to his size and style of play.

Yeah, I reject the no goalies criteria, sorry. You can claim that it's just as hard to compare defensemen to forwards, centers to wingers, etc. A player is a player.
1. Miikka Kiprusoff - agile as a cat, cold as ice. Jarome was a crucial part of that run in 2004, but without Miikka Kiprusoff that team wades in mediocrity for who knows how long, doesn't make the playoffs, and we never have the magic of 04. IMO he was the greatest player in Calgary Flames history. In his prime he was an all-time elite goaltender in that he made bottom 10 teams look like contenders.
2. Theoren Fleury - I don't really care about his off-ice antics, but I empathize with his off-ice tragedies. This guy overcame tremendous physical limitations and mental harms to be one the most talented, in-your-face scorers in an era where the passion and thrill of the game was gone. My childhood hockey role model.
3. Jarome Iginla - a hockey player's hockey player. Tough and skilled, pure elite goal scorer, and was the ultimate role model and community member off the ice. A leader in and out of the dressing room, Iginla is the modern face of the franchise. Holds numerous Flames records, and helped carry a near-Cinderella team on his back in 2004. There is just far too much to like about Iginla to not have him top 3. He won the Hart Trophy and was also named one of the top 100 players in the NHL...wait.

1. Iginla
2. McDonald - didn't expect him to make my list, but when I think back to my childhood, he is definitely the most identifiable memory and player for me.
3. T. Hunter
If goalies were allowed, VV would have made my list.

Really hard to do 3. Hate that I had to leave Lemieux and Fedorov off there.
