Love these lunchtime games, as they are early evening here and I can enjoy a jack and coke or three and watch some live flames hockey, whats not to love.

How many times has it gone the other way? It seems like this team (this season) never gets any bounces to help pull even when needed.
Remember 14-15 when pucks would just find their way in (that Brodie winner in the Boston comeback, anyone?). It's been the polar opposite. When does it even out?

Elliott is simply not good enough. That third goal was ultrasoft in my eyes. Game breaker......He is really soft on his glove side. Was also too early down on that play.....Overall fantastic game. Tough to swallow when we were sooooo goood..........

Yeah, I'm pulling for him to have a good second half but that was inexcusable.

Even more annoying to me then the 3rd goal that Elliott let in was the play where Stajan banked it off the end boards into the slot for the fourth. Not sure what he was thinking.
Every Flame came out and gave a good effort today, entertaining game, disappointing result.

Deflected or not he was too deep in the crease as there was way too much room on the glove side after he went down.

Goaltending was the issue this game. Wideman didn't help either with soft/poor play and giving up on the one goal.
Their go ahead goal was a bunk play by Stajan that went bad. Goaltender couldn't stop that.

Elliott was on his way to a pretty decent game up until then, and wasn't bad afterward.

So Johnson has more games, more wins, better save percentage at .913, and better gaa. Now that Elliott has lost do we see Johnson back in the net?

Given that they're currenty doing win-and-you're-in, yes.

I would expect so but Johnson's numbers have been pretty horrible since he was on that hot streak so he's got a lot to prove. I'm fine with the win and you are in though because neither of these two guys have proven they are up to the task of being a full time starter on this team at least.

Elliott has an .895 sv% in Feburary. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt on anything.

I think we used up all of our puck luck in one season for the next two or three that year LOL

Wideman was only one for one goal, the outside shot that either went straight in or was a long range deflection. He played that shot pretty normally, no?

If Gulutzan is sticking to his "You win, you're in" method he should.

Thanks. It was indeed deflected, a lot more than I thought it was. Elliott might just be off the hook on it, it was so changed. My bad.

meh... third goal wasn't great, but I don't think it qualifies as a softie either..
bad break on the deflection but really in that 50/50 window of 'unstoppable/great save' imo Eliot is already at the top of the crease and the guy is shooting from just about at top of the circle at point of release... not sure how much further you can go out with the NYRs having another guy coming down the other wing?
Wasn't really expecting a win at MSG after winning 3 in a row... team showed a lot of good things; just need to continue that and not get down on themselves as the Pittsburgh game will also be a very tough win to get.

Missed all but the final four minutes. Anyone got a tl;dr explanation for Versteeg's game misconduct?
