I hope you meant world cup and not Stanley Cup.

I think she means: all star game, winter classic, and 82 Oilers games where probably the worst hockey is played.

Weird that Okposo in over Eichel. Sure he;s good and leads the team in scoring, but Eichel would be if he didn't miss the first 21 games and is a bigger name.

I see Taylor Hall but no Adam Larsson. Oilers lose trade.

Okay so this is instantly my favourite hot take of the season so far.

Last year they had a borderline AHLer in the NHL ASG

I think we can get over Toews being there

Kesler going to an all star game is a disgrace to the game.

My only gripe is that it's an all star game so you want to bring your most skilled guys to which he is not as it's akin to Backlund representing the Flames over Gaudeau.
Gaudreau has just as many points as Backlund in like 10 less games. Backlund has had a great year but don't be ridiculous in thinking he is better or more deserving to go to a skills game than Gaudreau.

Johnny is a 3x All Star already. Say what you will about the game, but that's Damn impressive.

I'm pretty stoked about Crosby-Ovechkin-Whocares as a 3-on-3 line.

Panarin deserves to be there and not Toews

No it's really not. He's a great player and while he's a dbag that shouldn't exclude him from going to the All Star game.

More funny that after all the rebuilding, buff's choices are okposo or Eichel who has hardly played.

Should be ROR. I get that the Atlantic has some ridiculously talented centres, but that man is an All-Star.

The Stanley Cup Final while dramatic isn't the best hockey. They players are so beat up that it's just survival of the fittest. And it's in JUNE!
If your team is not in it, it's tough to watch 2 months of playoffs without your team to get to the SCF unless you're a diehard.

It's the All Star Game

Gaudreau is a star. League-wide. Backlund is a good player having a great year.

Toews is also a star.

So we want a guy who cheap shots and dives as a representive at the game geared toward getting new young fans? I don't care how many points he has, he should not be an all star because he does not represent the sport well.

Uh. O'Reilly and Reinhart have been excellent. Ristolainen is a stud too, is 5th in points among defenseman -- in any other division he'd be an easy selection.

Nice try though, hardy har.

Nearly every hockey player dives and takes cheap shots. Especially the great ones. Duncan Keith is a savage. Shea Weber once smashed Zetterberg's face through the glass to kill the last ten seconds of a playoff game. It happens.
