I don't disagree with what you are saying in general, however, I guarantee a Monday night game starting at 6pm reduces the local ratings. Based on your thoughts about 6pm, I take you don't have many commitments at work or after. Most people I know struggle to make it home by 6pm during the week from work (thus they aren't watching the start of the game), and that doesn't factor in any other things they have to do, such as picking up kids from sports or other extra curricular. If 6pm was as good as 7pm, local start time for events and Flames home games would be 6pm. Earlier start impacts the Flames viewing audience for sure.
|
Well, I was thinking more for TV viewers as it's a road game. Certainly a home game that you're attending at 6pm would be dicey, but a road game as long as you're in by like 6:15 you're pretty much good.
Either way though, I was meaning to get too involved in whether it was a good game to waste one on. On that note, though, do we even know the Flames (NHL teams) used the full amount of games they were allowed to wear them in?

Personally I think it would look amazing to have two teams wearing retros at once

What? Who would think like this? Do you feel this way or just speculating others might?

ok i feel this way.
because the main jerseys are still the mains (and i still like them)
retros are nice when they're not overused and not used on the road.
respect for Winnipeg wearing their retros tonight.

It probably had something to do with them wearing the retros against the Canucks and not wanting the equipment guy staying at the dome until the wee hours dealing with those jerseys when they have a perfectly clean set to go for the plane ride in the morning.

lol if NHL teams cared about the equipment guys they'd paid they something decent.
And anyways, it's not like they have one of each jersey or something. Multiple sets of each, multiple. Many.

I'm not sure if this is known around here.

Multiple sources tell the Star Tribune that all NHL teams will be permitted to have only home and road jerseys next season as Adidas takes over for Reebok as the official outfitter of NHL uniforms. There will be no third jerseys, in order to make the initial implementation of new sweaters easier

Vancouver Hockey Lunch on TSN was complimenting our thirds from Sat. night as well. Shame to see them gone.

lol weren't you just talking about not wearing a jersey because of respect or something? You're all over the place.
As for this post he probably doesn't want to go against the CofRed. Regular season it's all good though.

I would prefer if the NHL went away from home = dark, away = white to the soccer or NFL style of primary and alternate. It would be cool to see red vs blue or black vs green for example.
If the Jets want to always wear white at home due to their white out tradition that is fine. Also, the Flames could wear red against every divisional team but would then need an alternate jersey for when playing in Chicago, Detroit, etc.
