It's been like that for a few years. It's a double header on SN and Calgary is the second game. Same thing happens on Saturday when the Flames play the late game.

I don't like it either but there is a reason.

Well very few fans like 8 pm Wed starts (I don't mind) I understand why it occurs.

Wednesday night is the national broadcast on Sportsnet with eastern games starting at 5 MST and the western games starting at 8 pm.

If we ever want to get national broadcasts as Flames fans during the week, we need to have them start at 8. If it was just the Canucks and other coast teams playing, than Flames fans in other parts of the country would only be able to watch during HNIC.

In any event I hope the game is enjoyable for all!

At this point I'd call them a better than average hockey team. They're obviously not a bottom feeder by any means, but they're also not quite in "elite" category yet either. But they're slowly getting there. Baby steps.
