It literally couldn't have been any further right or up or it would have hit the corner of the post.

Elliott just doesn't look like an nhl start ing caliber goalie.

Thank goodness they didn't rush the extension. Approaching 40 games in and I think I'm done. Let him play thru then cut bait at the nearest opportunity.

Calgary does decent to recover from a 1-0 deficit all the time. Hope they keep up the great effort.

Landeskog also had a clear view, of half the net. Elliott bit on the fake half slap and slid too far. That hits Johnson in the chest/shoulder.

Gonna be pretty disappointed if Pickard pulls a Vezina calibre performance and the Avs win this...

Elliot was down early, and looks tiny in net because of it.

Johnson covers so much more net IMO. I want to see Elliot succeed as much as the next guy, but I'm thinking we overrated him coming from the blues.

Many minor leaguers can make that shot? Not on a regular basis. And when analyzing the goaltending doesn't matter if that was a fluke shot or intentional, what matters is that it was a perfectly placed shot.

That's a hard stop, and a laser of a shot, but at what point do the hard saves start getting made? I don't want to be always making excuses for a goalie.

The backcheck on that goal was pitiful though

That goal is on Ferland.

Love the player...when he plays to his strengths. Did a total fly by on Landeskog in the neutral zone, who then eventually ends up scoring as the play moves up the ice.

Soccer goalies look bigger in their nets.

Only if Johnson leave the short side wide open.

I think Elliot is in a mental slump. He has the tools to be a top goalie but he's obviously not playing with confidence. Pickard saved the Avs that period.

Yeah, that's why they're in the NHL. NHLer can routinely make that shot if they can see that spot. When a goaltender is in proper position it's very hard to score that goal especially when a left handed guy is coming down the left wing and shoots far side. It was a terrible goal to give up.

There was a hard save a minute before, on the power play. Maybe Ferland should score on his wide open shot, or at least make it tough.

He saved 3 point blank chances in the final minutes of last game.

It's not like Landeskog is a plug.
