always liked Jooris a lot, I hope it works out for him in Arizona. Probably not the worst landing spot in terms of opportunity.

Hope he sticks around the league long enough now so that in a few years, he can have another hot streak and we can all read posts about how terrible a decision it was to let him go just like Byron.

I like Jooris but I think his time in Calgary is over. I have to admit that I was surprised when he made the Flames one season because before that I saw him play for the Heat and didn't think he'll make an NHL at all. He was a feel good story but that feel good story ended already. I wish him the best of luck in Arizona. He might work out over there because I think he is well suited with Tippet system.

Both Jooris and Granlund are players I liked, but would be OK with seeing them have success elsewhere as it was really hard to see them have success here.

Byron is a different category. Waiving him was a miscalculation and you could see how disappointed he was at the time. Maybe having him around simply made the team too small but he is a good NHL player.

I thought losing Colborne for nothing was also a mistake but he looks awful now. I thought the guy at least had some scoring touch.

Waiving Byron was an attempt by Treliving to give this team flexibility. I hated Byron for the first few years he was here, but that last season I loved the kid. I really thought he was a 'player' then. Oh well, it isn't like this organization will get crippled because of it.

Jooris I liked, but his goals came from his line-mates mostly. On the 4th line, he simply didn't generate a tonne of chances. He was a fine depth player - the kind you don't really complain about, and that's good. However, the flames are chock-full of these players in the system. I don't think you replace Hathaway with him, and Hamilton I thought replaced him well. You still have some kids on the farm that are hoping to see some time here too.

I wish him well, and I hope he has a nice long career in the NHL. Funny in a way - he should thank Hathaway - the guy that possibly pushed him out this year - for the opportunity in Arizona. Without Hathaway kicking the crap out of Domi, maybe Arizona doesn't claim Jooris.

I think Jooris will actually fit in well in Phoenix's bottom six. Hope it works out for him there.

Churros were never going to work in New York as the city is already saturated with cupcakes and cronuts. Not surprised he was picked up by a team in Phoenix, the churro capital of America.

You don't say...

Either way, I'm sure the Coyotes are a perfect team for him. If he's going to stick in the NHL, this is his last shot and his best shot, but I still have my doubt he plays more than a season or two.
