Comment was saying NHL hockey is a men vs. boys thing, but of course the perpetually offended with have a problem with what he said. As for McDiver they did the right thing he did bonk his head on the ice. TSN turning it into a national emergency is no surprise.

Agree that it boils down to the league taking them seriously or not. If members of the PA disagree, bring it up with the player safety committee. If not, then don't publicly chastise the doctors who are looking out for your true best interests, that being your health and safety.
The Oilers should ask the league to ignore the safety of McDavid as he may miss a couple shifts when they are on the PP... How stupid does that sound, Maroon.
Even Connor acting like a B in his interview after the game makes him sound like such an idiot..

Next time leave him in the game to absorb several more sub-concussive hits so the whole league can benefit from him turning into Marc Savard.

If the PA doesn't want a part in the NHL's concussion protocol, then the PA needs to step up and take responsibility for the player's safety when the inevitable post-retirement lawsuits arise.
You can't impede the NHL's safety protocols, and then sue them for not protecting you.

The thing is he left with 14 seconds left on the power play. He was available for 88% of the power play.

That's interesting I guess? Was simply pointing out the bizarre double standard you (and others) hold for some media personalities.

"Man's game" - fine. His follow-up was dumb though. Essentially says he is uneducated and proud of it. And the "you media depend on us for your living" is pretty condescending. So they should never criticize you?

While indelicate, I can appreciate what Maroon was getting at. His response was stoopid. He feels the line of acceptable casualty is higher than others because it's part of a culture he feels is fine. His response could simply have been "I'm sorry if some took offence, but I'm simply trying to point out that I feel this is a contract sport and we assume the risk of that contact. I should've used better language as I feel women are just as capable of playing in this great game". Done. Instead he says "Hurr durr... I'm not stoopid. I have upmost respect!"
"upmost respect". Ok then

I don't have a personal dislike or vendetta against Dreger. All I said was ever since Nonis (hid major source of information) got canned I don't see the value of him as an insider when they already have McKenzie who is much more plugged in.
My post you quoted was not directed specifically at you as the criticism of Millions borders on over the top at times by more than a few here. He tweets a lineup mistake and vicious posts at CP ensue. Apparently several posters here feel that his political views (apparently a Trump supporter) are worthy of criticism in a hockey forum as well. Working for RSN is no picnic and he's probably doing this job for the love of the game not the pay and if some of you think you can do a better job then send your resumes to RSN.
I'm not a Francis fan and I'm sure I've said some unflattering things about him but he's a highly opinionated writer often attempting to stir the pot. He would rather have people like me discussing him or others criticizing by linking his articles than nobody talking about him at all. Millions is just a host of hockey broadcasts. He's the Flames equivalent of Principe and Oilers fans don't look to him for relevant information on their team and so why do the Flames fans expect more from Millions?

Hey, it was a typo because p and t are right beside each... oh, wait. Come on though, he doesn't "play school", he "plays hockey". So don't call him .... what's the word.... "not smart".

Since I brought up Francis he happens to be on 960 radio right now and he's commenting on how this was a bad call seeing McDavid missed a key powerplay at the end of the game and he was not able to start overtime because he was in the concussion protocol. I'm pretty sure when I was flipping back and forth it happened at the end of the 2nd period and had nothing to do with McDavid missing a critical powerplay at the end of the game or into OT. Sure he missed some of a powerplay at the end of the 2nd period but big deal as the game is 60 minutes. Bottom line if Francis needs to check his facts and the Oilers are no good.

He should have tweeted the misinformation out instead, then it would have been fine.

And yes you did have a point. Was just listening and they spent a good 5 minutes talking about Prust with the Leafs and when he'll get a chance to be called up....and even joked about him taking shots on Ramo in the AHL.
Problem is Prust was never with the Leafs, he signed a PTO and then was released.
The media really needs to do a better job doing their homework.
