That's the problem with twitter and social media these days. People are is such a rush to report something first they go with what they think might happen instead of actually waiting for confirmation. Too bad Roger was in such a hurry.

Gulutzan says #Flames have a game time decision with one player tonight, presumably Versteeg. Gulutzan confirms no Jankowski tonight.
This is exciting, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's still in his first full pro season, so odds are he will not be quite ready to play in the NHL. Still, I want to see how he looks and compares to the rest of the regulars.
I have a hunch that he reads the play very well, and often makes the right decision. As with any inexperienced player, he'll make a wrong read or two. Also, he'll have difficulty adjusting to the speed of the NHL game, and get caught by it a couple of times.
I'm saying this now so that people don't flip out when/if it happens. Expect it, and then be pleasantly surprised by anything more than that.

I don't see this as lack of intelligence with our coaching staff. They probably want him to get up to speed with the team before throwing him into the frying pan.
They've made some moves that are questionable but this isn't one of them, for all we know Janko called his family and they want to be apart of the road trip to see his first game.
I wasn't trying to be clever, but that coach's player decisions have been suspect at the very least.

No #Flames morning skate thanks to Celtics game. No word on lines/pairings. Gulutzan says "we have a few things going on" so wait and see.
That's probably another reason why Janko isn't playing tonight.
So happy and excited for the kid. Hope he gets a few games in at least to get a good taste of the NHL, and maybe get a bit comfortable.
I don't think it is the wrong decision to call him up and sit him in the press box for the first game or two. Get him a couple of practices before throwing him out there, though Boston would have been like a home start for him.
