AHL is doing that this year too.

I was just going to suggest this. The OHL does the same.

I feel like the whites are so bland. I don't want to watch my team wear bland when I go to the game.

I hate how the WHL switches it up at the half way point.

How does that work anyway? Not all teams play the middle of the season on the same date. Some teams are a game or two past the halfway point when other teams are just reaching it. Does the road team have to bring two sets of jerseys around that time? Or does it just switch over on a certain date and if you don't wear one of the jerseys as much as the other then that's just too bad?

One thing I do know is my buying patterns. When I was a kid I had one home and one away jersey because I had to have both. Then for the pedestal jersey years I bought the red jersey because I hated the white. When they switched away from the pedestal, I bought the white only because I hated black jerseys for a red team and I wanted a jersey and I wound up never wearing it. I haven't bought a white jersey since. I have bought 4 reds in that time. 6 reds to two whites. I'm sure merchandise sales would also show that the home dark jerseys sell better than the white away jerseys.

Home team is the one to switch should the road team not have their colour jersey.

Mustard and beer show up on whites too easily.

Pretty sure they just wear darks at home until the Christmas break, then everyone makes the switch over to the home whites when they come back...

Home dark jerseys are so much better than wearing whites at home. The one redeeming factor is seeing other teams' dark jerseys when they come through your barn in the second half.

I always preferred the original red aways to the original home whites. Always thought the red shoulder epaulets should've either been trimmed with gold or eliminated entirely. Aesthetically, it kinda bugged me.

The away whites IMO look terribly bland especially with white helmets. Paying customers deserve to see their team wear their best uniforms and it surely isn't the white ones.

Those have been retired already. Last season was their last.

Home Whites no. I was glad the NHL flipped the order around so fans started buying their colors to wear at home. I hope the NHL never goes back to home Whites on a consistent basis.

Screw this home and away, colours and whites crap. Primary and Alternate jerseys. Want your primary jerseys to be white? Go for it. Want your alternates to be a different colour altogether and not white? Go for it.

Both teams wear their primary jerseys unless they are too similar in which case the home team wears the alternate (to maintain the 'road team can travel with one set thing that equipment managers like). Basically what soccer and rugby teams do.
