I don't imagine every player attends every event. I do recall Burke once saying that the day a player is asked to participate in a community or charitable event and declines is the day he gets his ticket out of town.
It would appear Johnny and others weren't asked to partake or had other matters to attend to. Not our business and those kids were happy either way.

Guys, it's the Ronald McDonald House not the Pizza 73 house. Johnny contractually can't be there.

These last few posts are why we can't have nice things.
Love seeing these pictures every year. The pure joy on the kids faces... damn onions.

Gotta have respect for Backlund.
It seems like he has gone to nearly every charity event in the past 5 years. And on top of that, he has plenty of his own initiatives.
EDIT: Speaking of his own Initiatives...
Hockey Fights Cancer strikes deep chord with Backlund

Maybe Johnny's busy house-hunting? It's been mentioned before.
Cut the guy some slack.
Players have personal lives too.
Johnny's been to many charity events.

What a fantastic day for those kids. Both the players involved and the kids will remember this day for along time.

Flames trip to the Children's Hospital
That is fantastic stuff. Those kids will never forget that I hope it stays with the players and inspires them (and us) to do more.
Which is why I hate myself for even thinking that Chewbacca looks like he had a stroke.

Ferland was out in Morely so it sounds like all the players did something, it just might not be publicized.

Good rule of thumb.....random pictures on twitter of the boys doing charity work represents a subset of all charity work done by the team.
I would NEVER assume the lack of a player in these photos means they don't do charity work. Just dumb.
I think these guys are great.

My kid was at the children's a year or so ago (broken arm in practice) and Gaudreau was there. Got the pic and everything (I've posted it before). So he does attend these things.
Oddly, my kid was also at the children's yesterday (sprained ankle - not from hockey) but I asked and he didn't see the Flames. He was there at 9:30 or so. Too bad.

Would you rather I start a new thread? Don't see the harm in asking where the face of the franchise is in one of the more famous community events the Flames do. Will the kids see this post? Nothing negative about my post at all. I'm genuinely curious where Gaudreau is
And there's a pretty prejudice post a few posts above mine yet you decided to reply to mine...hmmmmmm.

I dont know man, Elliot is nowhere to be seen!!! I think he is tired of trying to play goal behind this porous defence.
Seriously, all of these players are out in the public dozens of times during the year.

He is one of my favorite flames and has been for years. He completely embodies what I feel it means to be Calgarian and a Calgary Flame. All coming from a guy from Vasteras Sweden. I hope to see him as a life long flame.

Morely? Wow, that's great! That town could really use some cheering up. My respect for Ferland just keeps growing, it will be interesting to see how his adult life takes shape.

He was at another community event so get off your high horse. Your attitude is highly insulting. He's also one of the most requested players for stuff like this and makes it out to a metric ton of stuff.
Also, there are many many many things these guys do which aren't publicized. Sorry they don't write it down on your fridge white board you nattering soccer mom.

Hi all, I am a new member to the CP community, but I have been visiting and reading a lot of your stuff for the last few years. (E=NG threads are absolute gold!!!) I think my kids would call that me being a creeper. I don't know, I'm not up to date with all the current lingo. Nothing but positives to see from this charity work. Thank you for posting the pics. I live out in New Brunswick and have been a Flames fan since the early 80s. I am not as exposed to what the Flames players do in the communities in and around Calgary. I work with kids so this truly amazing stuff!
