What limits are on special authorization medication? No, there are literally tens of thousands of drugs, each with different limits set on them. For example: some adjudicators limit triptans (migraine meds) to 12 tablets per month. When a pharmacy tries to process a claim and that limit has been reached, it will not go through, or the balance after the 12 will go to the patient. This is normal. Maybe the city should've audited it more closely after the fact, but that's hardly normal protocol. One would assume the insurer is following similar rules to other insurers.
It's odd because the thread was created to point out waste in the public sector.

My crack about your wife's plan was in jest.

Anyway as, a drug like viagra could indirectly keep someone at work as without it perhaps the employee goes into depression and the cost of an LTD claim can easily be 700,000 when you factor in cash payments, plan reserves, lost productivity and the cost of a replacement worker.

I took a look at the plan documents on google and there do not seem to be any limits surrounding viagra. My guess is that a couple of workers have figured this out and have likely made a little profit off of selling some drugs.

It's a cartel. An underground ring of old men getting cheap four-hour boners.

To be honest, it isn't as though you couldn't buy Viagra off the internet for cheap, if one was so inclined.
