Grossmann playing makes me not want to watch.

Also makes me want to picket the saddledome in protest.

Looking like other changes. Tkachuk in and Freddie Hamilton comes out. Jyrki Jokkipakka out and Niklas Grossman will play . #Flames

Grossman plays a physical game and Gulutzan suggests they need that against a physical St. Louis team. #Flames

Gulutzan says "I have no desire to play a free wheeling up and down game" . It's a mans game a physical game"

The only time IMO that Grossman should be in line-up is when or if England is hurt.

Also thought Hamilton had a great game. Don't think any of the forwards should be sat after last game.

I presume they are going to have to shuffle the d-pairings again. Can't see Grossman and England playing together.

Gotta think Grossmann playing has to do with Gulutzan's frustration with nobody sticking up for Johnny yet again vs the Blues Friday.

Well, I am pissed off for two reasons.

Grossmann sucks. He should not be paid to be playing pro hockey in the NHL at all. Nakladal and about 100 AHLers are better than him.

Picklepakka has been decent to good all season so far. Why punish him by sitting him? Bottles the mind.

I think it was brought up earlier but it's possible this was the plan the entire time and both players were aware of the situation. Freddie deserves to stay in but I also respect the process of following the plan. I am excited to see if Tkachuk can take his game up after watching a couple, and knowing that if he does go back down we have a good energy player ready to step right in.

I thought the Flames looked slow compared to St Louis on Saturday and Grossmann is not going to help that. Gotta think (pray?) this might be his last chance to stay if they are true with not wanting to carry 8 D all season.

Very valid points about Tkachuk coming back in. I am old school and go with the theory if the team plays well and wins , no changes.

As for Grossman i think its Kulak that will be going back down when they go back to Calgary. Grossman, while not a good d-man, can sit in pressbox for long length of periods . Kulak is still young and should be playing on a regular basis.

-second night of back to back
-playing the same goalie on the second night of back to back
-on the road
-playing one if the best teams in the league
-Grossman in, Kevin out

Not looking forward to this one

Gio hate? I have no Gio hate. Using Gio as an example to highlight how silly it is for us to write a player off after one bad game. No one is writing Gio off after his poor performance the other night, nor should they. So maybe Grossmann should be given another shot or two to see if he has a role to play with this club.

Your post if fairly typical of many posters, everything is Black and White. You either love a player and back that player unconditionally, or you hate the player. Why does one have to "hate" Giordano if they point out he hasn't played well. He's tied for the highest paid player on the team, and like many of his colleagues, it's been a rough start to the season for him. Why does pointing that out mean I hate him? Not like I'm rambling on about it with 6 paragraph long posts, cherry picking stats then also manipulating those stats to try to weave together and back up some bizarre bias or theory I have about Giordano.

I've seen a multitude of posts singling Gio out from you, dating back to labeling him a "pylon" for getting beat by McDavid. ( )

Maybe you don't notice you're doing it... but you are. And don't get hung up on the word hate. Obviously I'm not inferring you want to run over his dog... but you're fixating on him in this poor start the team is having, and judging on a very small sample size using single instances to fit a narrative you've been weaving for a couple weeks now.

I'm fine with Grossman coming in. If anything, Glutz probably pointed out to him how good Wideman played after slotting in last game. He responded exactly how a veteran should; having a good, steady game.

Hopefully Grossman saw that and will respond. If he has another poor game, you can bet he'll be sealed away in the press box for the next while. If he has a good game, he gives the coaching staff faith that he's can be a decent #7 D and slot in when needed.

To me that's a much more ideal situation.

That would make a lot of sense. Johnny was getting roughed up pretty good and nobody answered the bell. IIRC Engelland stepped up for him once but nothing came of it. I could tell Gaudreau was not really playing his game and thinking twice before he did anything.
