Also I'm getting tired of talking about how good this team's defensive group is. The truth is that this defensive group isn't very good at all and hasn't been good for over a year. Not sure if Gulutzan is the guy to coach these guys up (time will tell) but this team is going to flounder until they start playing better defense. Also for a team that practised a lit of special teams, they still stink.
EE in mid season form two games into the season!!!

You can't really fault Elliott for the goals. Breakaways don't really count, you can't blame the goalie for letting them in. Breakaways should never be allowed, ever, and we allowed 5. If that happens the goalie becomes a non-factor.

People blaming the coach must have the memory of a gold fish. They've been bad defensively for a long time. How many coaches are going to get fired before we realize it's not the coaches? The coach isn't telling them to allow 10 breakaways in 2 games.

This team is even hotter garbage than last year's team. At least last year they could beat the Oilers.

So much for the improved defense and puck possession. This team looks awful, Gulutzan is a terrible coach.

Not that I'm blaming the loss on those two specifically, but if they don't start putting up some points, we're in trouble.
When are Gaudreau and Monahan going to get a quality right winger?

Bottom 6 have been pretty good but the top 6 have been crap. Combine that with Wideman deciding to play double agent and the rest of the D thinking watching a breakaway is super sweet and yeah, we lose again. Yay.

Disappointing start to the season.

Gaudreau better get used to this new thing called "a lot of expectations" because these last two games did not cut it. He needs to be much better and make smarter decisions with the puck.

Basically everything needs to improve.

Only way from here is up!

Elliot hasn't made a save when we needed him to.
Wideman is slow, and making boneheaded decisions with the puck. I expect Kulak in for him tomorrow.

Jokipakka was a positive.

Lets blame it on Elliott's red pads.

I think the problem is the difference refusing to except the system

If we lose tomorrow, you might as well say goodbye to the playoffs. If you can't beat Vancouver and Oilers x 2, good luck against Anaheim, Chicago, St. Louis, etc.

Swap brouwer and versteeg next game and give it a go.

Not impressed with gulutzan so far. Bob seemed to have lost the players towards the end and even then they played with more heart than this.
