Well that line sure worked well for the Canucks last year.

With how much Gulutzan has been stressing the importance of special teams, and with Higgins strong play on the PK (from what i've seen), I think he will make the team.
I penciled Higgins onto the Backlund/Frolik line a couple games ago just for this reason. I know he has lost a step speed wise, but I think he is still a very smart player who will compliment the other two and solidify that line as one of the most effective shut down lines in the West. Having his experience on the PK is also an asset. I wouldn't count on any offense from him but I think he will fit nicely into his niche.

I think tonight is going to be the real at test at seeing the second and third lines. And luckily with guys like Bouma, Hathaway and Hamilton there is enough gritty depth to sit Higgins if he falters and insert one of these guys on that wing.

Well I'll be in attendance. Will try to give a breakdown afterwards.

But I wouldn't count out the Flames adding an internet stream last minute. They've done so in the past.

It's like we're in the 80s or 90s again where you only get to watch every 5th game or so.

I know it's only the pre-season, but this is lack of coverage is comically bad.

My god has Arizona done an AMAZING job stockpiling good young talent. IMO they have past the Jets for best young core in the league.

OEL, Murphy , Stone, Domi, Strome, Duclair & Reider already established.

Fischer, Dvorak, Crouse & Perlinni are ready to make the jump likely this season

Keller, Chychurn, Merkley, Garland & Dauphin Dineen & Tornordi still pretty raw but good prospects.

Absolutley loaded with talent and will be a scary team in a few years. Props to John Chayka in doing a great job rebuilding the roster.

Calgarians have been treated to more televised Oilers preseason games. Sure was nice of Ken King to hand Rogers the Flames rights when it's pretty clear they stand at the bottom of the Rogers totem pole. I hope he got a kickback because if he didn't it has to go down as one of his bigger blunders.

Maybe he's a genius as the poor audio, video and all around subpar production levels makes paying for seats in the Dome more appealing.

We should be lucky they even show the amount of games they do!

What were King's other choices? Wasn't it an NHL deal?

Regional TV deals are done by the teams, that's why the Jets are with TSN. Who knows exactly what other deals were out there but Sportsnet's production was so bad it was frustrating they went back to them. The NHL going National with Sportsnet didn't help either.

Want to see Vey's shot again. Might have scored.

Doesn't matter of course but still, nice looking shot.

So glad I picked up sportsnet now: four screens showing baseball, one poker and one Gaelic games. I feel like they're really in sync with their market.
