I saw somewhere on Facebook or Twitter, that Elliot has stopped 51/53 shots in the pre-season. Not such a bad save percentage. Pre-season is not a fool proof indicator of how the regular season will go, but it sure feels great to have hope in your goaltender.

In three preseason games, #Flames goalie Brian Elliott has a 0.83 GAA, .962 SV%. Small sample size, vs sub-par line-ups, etc., but still...

Elliott had a .965 sv% last preseason too!
Know who else had a .965 last preseason? Jonas Hiller.
The thing that I find insufferable about Oilers and Leafs fans is their willingness to claim victory before anything ever really happens.
Let's just keep our heads down and watch Elliott hopefully put up a great season. If/when that happens, I'll gloat as much as the next guy. But if we're talking about small sample size, pre-season games...

I mean, Dreger's tweet didn't use the word "victory" but the idea is still there; celebrating the performance of Elliott before we get into games that actually matter.
I'm not trying to lecture anyone, I just get annoyed when I see Edmonton & Toronto fans bragging about the accomplishments of their team before anything has actually been accomplished. I'd hate to see us do the same thing.

Ortio and Ramo? .946 and .941, respectively.
Small sample sizes and all that.
Do you know what separates Brian Elliot from Jonas Hiller, Kari Ramo and Joni Ortio? He recorded the best save percentage in the NHL last year, won nine games in three rounds of the 2015–16 Stanley Cup playoffs, and is among the top-three ranked goalies over the course of the past five years.

Unlike anything from Edmonton and Toronto, Brian Elliot has actually accomplished things in the regular season and the playoffs.

I'm just going to leave this here. I am sure it will come in handy during the season after a big performance from Elliott. It will also drive some people absolutely mental which is a bonus!

Oh, is his body of work what we're talking about? My bad, I was responding to Haynes' tweet about preseason numbers.
