I agree with you to an extent. I simply said this because I assume there are more fans in general for the Oilers, than that of the Flames. Toronto easily is the team with the most fans in the country which is why I call them Canada's team.
Point was, I never understood the flags on the Flames jerseys. They (the Flames) are not Canada's team, and not Alberta's team hence my comment. Anywho, lets agree to disagree.
this has been talked about actually pretty extensively and I want to say there's basically been a majority / consensus? At least I feel that way but maybe I'm just seeing many opinions that reinforce mine and am optimistic that if the Flames listen to the fanbase on this site... the current set of jerseys gotta go. And let's be honest. The Flames read this website.
If they don't want to go retro, I think it'd almost be as simple as ditching the black piping and flags, and either having no shoulder patch or that third jersey shoulder patch logo (but, the only thing I don't like about it is there's no Flames in it... otherwise it's pretty good).
Otherwise just go retro and give the people what they want. You'll sell lots of em I think and you'll look good.

Even if they don't want to go full retro for some reason, they have to do something. The flags and piping HAVE GOT to go, the sooner the better
Now all I can imagine is new Adidas jerseys next year with retro colours but horrible flags and piping kept on and Ken King saying, "See? I did read! Don't you love these??"

The rumor that the 3rds were discontinued...the new stickers on the helmets...this ticket package. Might be smoke, might not be, but at least we aren't talking about contracts.
My guess? Maybe.
What's this about new helmet stickers? Tried searching but couldn't find anything about it.
I love the flags. Always have. Shows pride of where you are from and what you represent.
Also shows the other 23 (soon to be 24) non Canadian team fans a geographical lesson. Realistically oit side of Canada who the #### would know where and what country Calgary is and where it is located?
I can't get over the fact that the home (red) jersey looks like a mini-tee on the guy with the white arms and bottom. Also not a fan of white bottom's as it creates the "diaper effect"

Except for minor revisions as jersey styles have changed over the years (and things like adding names to the backs of the jerseys in the late 70s), the Habs, Wings, and Hawks haven't made any significant changes to their primary jerseys since the 40s or 50s.
Even if you just go back to the Edge redesign in 2007, the Bruins, Flames, Blackhawks, Avalanche, Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Canadiens, Devils, Rangers, Senators, Canucks, and Capitals are all still wearing the same designs.
The Canadiens changed to a lace up collar last year.
Not surprising, no way they're going to bring in new uniforms entirely, one year before Adidas re-does them. Aside from replacing the Wal-Mart word-mark 3rd with the retro third, I'm expecting pretty much status quo in terms of the main kits this season.
Finding out about retro colouring on season ticket packages and other official Flames info has me more excited about potential Flames branding changes in 2017-18, rather than this upcoming season.
