If course he was in a ####ty neighborhood and catered to lower element of society looking to purchase things of a nefarious nature.

Have you tried motion activated lights around the yard? Might be enough to startle people off.

My apartment was broken into when I lived by a methadone clinic in Ottawa. It is a terrible, terrible feeling. A pretty intense level of violation actually.

it is terrible, and I don't think it's something that's easy to get over.

Affordable Locksmiths in Kensington has Bolt Buddies. You can buy them and install them yourself if you'd like. Added bonus - it's next to Chicken on the Way...

http://www.affordablelocksmiths.com/

Alternatively, you can try some jamb armour kits. Lowes has these:

https://www.lowes.ca/hardware/door-w...y-repair-kits/

Website for them:

It's all going to depend on the underlying door and quality of install so I'd take the battering ram video with a grain of salt.

Don't forget security film for glass areas on the ground floor that are vulnerable (ie sidelight for your door which get smashed and then they reach around to undo the deadbolt)
