Fence - Cost Sharing?

OP sounds like your neighbor has a grow op. Look in his basement windows. Tell him you don't care if he has it but he will have to pay for the whole fence or you'll snitch.

When I asked my new neighbors to chip in on a fence they both flat out said no. There's nothing I could do about it so I paid it all. Noted.

i am interested on the reason they gave.

i have been lucky with all out homes, we have always had great nieghbours.

My advice would be to work hard to try and come to a fair share arrangement.

One of my neighbors was a dick about the fence and for the sat 10 yrs we have barely spoken. While I wish I would have handled the situation differently, I believe the situation is mostly his fault.

You could have painted their side bright pink.

And they'd just paint it whatever color they wanted in 4 hours flat. Not much of a deterrence for someone who got a free fence.

That's 4 hours and the cost of paint they would not have done if it was a normal color

It's also not their fence on not their property. Their only recourse is to build their own fence to block the view of yours. They can't legally just paint it.

That would be trespassing. Then they have to pay to have it repainted back to the Oilers colors you originally had.
