I just bought 06 for the Xbox, i was told that EA was outselling 2k6 by a wide margin. I'd like to know which peeps here prefer. [/b][/quote]
I've been addicted to 06 since the demo, played at least 50 demo games... with Toronto. bleh.

I'd rate it 8.7/10 personally. The gameplay is just too addictive, the graphics are outstanding on my PC. Not the ultamite simulation but it feels "great" Can't wait for addon makers and roster updaters to get to work on 06.

2k6 is still wrapped in plastic and I can safely say it'll stay like that for a while. Take this from a guy who played around 2/1 2k5 games than 2005 last year.

Lost to Minnesota 4-3 in the season opener. Kipper rebounded as usual by winning 4-1 vs CBJ.

1-1 after 2 franchise games.

Just got the game a couple hours ago. It is really, really good. I had been playing the 2k series more in the past couple of years, but I'm glad I got EA first this year. The game just has that fun factor that makes you want to keep playing it.

I picked up 06 from Futureshop today...I had 2k6 in my hands as well, but decided against buying it. I will probably play 06 for awhile, and then determine is getting 2k6 for the Xbox 360 will be necessary.

Did anybody see the Team Canada Jerseys in NHL 2006?
There isn't an option to choose the jerseys prior to the pug fugly ones which debuted a few months ago!

Just a few q's before I decide to buy it
1. Is it still too end to end? back and fourth chances
2. do the A.I controlled teamates join the rush better? So youre not skating up ice on a 1 on 3?
7. Is there a forechecking system implented? meaning you have to battle for the puck along the boards and have scrums?
3. How are special teams? does it feel like operating a PP when you have one? meaning being able to setup in the zone, passing lanes, the CPU clears off the glass, and not just attack with 1 on 3's LOL
4. Is the wrap around back?
5. Any way to merge wrist and slap buttons into one? like in the old series.
6. Any way to turn off computer trading in a season? so you have to do all the trades manually. This is for the people who like to keep all teams roster like in real life.

thanks

Has anyone else already completed a season with the Flames ( yes I simmed just to get a feel for how the contracts would go up ) After the first year I believe Kipper was making something 700 000 dollars, after the season he demands 10 million dollars!

Who does he think he is!?! So needless to say, I shipped him to Beantown for Andrew Raycroft and a pick, Raycroft is also amazing at 99!

My biggest problem with the game, is that when the cpu is in your zone and is setting up the play (which is awesome i might add) your wingers coverin D-men just stand next to them when the cpu D gets the puck. Nothing happens, and by the time you get to X button, theyve passed.. and usually 4 lightning quick tick tac toes and its behind kips. ... argh..

I agree with the CPU can do no wrong post.

Other than that, lovin it!!

(Thats EA 06 btw)

Yep, I know what you mean about the tic-tac-toe passing. While it is nice to see the CPU AI aggressive on offense for a change, some of their plays are just way too hard and near impossible to defend. It seems by the time I blink they have already completed about 6 passes and then the puck is in my net.

I lost another game of my dynasty to Pitts 7-4, and before that I played the Panthers...I led almost the whole game 2-1, they rallied in the 3rd to beat me 4-2. They had I think 3 goals in the final 2 minutes of the game. =/

I think my record is 1-6-0-0

Every year when I buy the EA game, it takes me a little while to get used to it and start enjoying it.

I've played one game so far, and I love it. So much smoother and more mechanically sound than '05. Won my first game 4-2. Iginla, Langkow, Simon, and Lombardi with the goals.

I like the highlights the play at the end of the game, very cool.

You guys suck... i'm 5-3 right now, quite a few low scoring games, a couple big scoring, 2 shutouts by Kipper.

Play positional D, block shots, poke loose pucks and the wins will come.

Has anyone here gotten any copies of EA 2006 or NHL 2K6 for PS2? I called around and they all said the PS2 versions must've been in a shipping mixup. Only copies are for XBox and Gamecube.

I am 5-2 with the Maple Leafs.

Sundin leading the Leafs with 4G 5A 9Pts

I updated the Leaf roster and Lindros got injured in the 3rd game with a pulled groin

I played online two times with my PS2 and was 1-1.

You know how much everyone around here hates the Leafs, yet you still talk about your virtual games with them like we care??

Stick to your "I like the Flames" part of your schizophrenia...

What skill level do you guys play on?
What sliders did you change?

I've played about 10 games in my dynasty and I still haven't found the perfect settings yet.
I find Difficult too hard and Medium too easy.
