Nice to see he NBA all star playing but most of the games the other teams gets blown out so game become boring.

Amateurs won't be fair. The Russians would cheat again. The Chinese would also call their athletes amateurs.

Olympic basketball may become more competitive if they decide to go with the soccer route - under 23's only with only 3 overage players allowed. But still, the US will have a college all-star team there....

Watching the replay of the bronze medal wrestling match. The only thing missing here was a chair shot from a double crossed love interest.

Thinking about this number made me curious about the Winter Games because with just hockey, Canada gets credited with two medals in the total count, but there's almost 50 athletes on the teams.
  • In Sochi, Canada sent 221 athletes and 86 brought home at least one medal: 38.91%
  • In Vancouver, Canada sent 206 athletes and 87 brought home at least one medal: 42.23%

Such a silly argument, IMO.

Should they ban Chinese ping pong players because they're too dominant?

Should they ban Norwegians from cross country skiing? Or Belgians from speed skating?

US women swept the hurdles - ban them!

Lots of sports are imbalanced competitively. But teams/countries/participants catch up over time. Competing against opponents that are better than you forces you to get better.

Athletes shouldn't be punished for being dominant.

Well that was a thoroughly enjoyable Olympics. I haven't enjoyed a summer Olympics this much in a long time.

Likewise. It was great to see so many young Canadian athletes stepping up in sports where we haven't fared very well in the recent past. DeGrasse and Oleksiak are both stars now. Aside from them there were so many other sports that were fun to watch, volleyball and rugby sevens come to mind for me. Tokyo in 2020 should be unreal.
