I found a time of 2:35 PM for the gold medal match, not sure if's that local time for me (I'm in the Pacific time zone) or Eastern time.

Edit: Just double-checked, that time is 2:35 PM Pacific, so 3:35 PM Mountain time for the gold medal match. Good luck Erica.

Nyhaug wins his quarterfinal heat! And just misses a huge crash too!

Per IAAF, China's preliminary round time was faster than Canada's when expanded to 1/1000ths seconds. Hence, USA must displace China.

Layden apologized afterwards for the tweet as he accidentally typed faster instead of slower. It's China who will be eliminated by the US, not us

So the girl from India that beat Michelle Li (remember Li won the first set) has made it all the way to the final.

What could have been....

Nyhaug won the second run as well. As long as he finishes the last run he'll qualify for the semi-final.

I am pretty sure I have seen them run 9 racers/teams in track events in the past in cases like this. Understandable that the US would get to re-race to see if their time qualifies, but it is interesting that they wouldn't run the final with nine.

There are only 8 lanes on the track. It has to suck for the Chinese team but this was probably the fairest way to solve the problem.

Ahh, I double checked, and on this track, it looks like there are 10 lanes for the 100m track, but only eight for the full 400m. So yeah... sucks to be China.

Only if they used bean bags, though - and gave out Participaction patches for every event.
