She could have been wearing a US flag, and they would have complained it wasn't big enough...

Well this wasn't a lie.... Sucks about the Men's Volleyball Team, but still have to think that with wins of Italy and the US this Olympics has to be considered a success for them.

This.
Canada isn't strong in Volleyball, they were not in Group 1 in the World League last season (Although they did get promoted to it for next year by winning group 2). They posted some fantastic results in this tournament.

^I'm still grumpy about that basketball game. The wheels came off their team game and certain players were trying to force low percentage shots. Tough to watch.

I'd say it's more on the players. Not to single out somebody, but when you're not hitting your shots (Kia Nurse was 2-for-16 on the day), maybe you shouldn't be chucking up prayers in the dying minutes of the game. If France goes on to win a bronze medal (let's face it, France won't beat the States in the semi-final game), it's going to be a tough pill to swallow.

Rough match for the Polish men's volleyball team today. They self destructed in the second set and couldn't recover after that. They should have performed better against the USA.

I think both. That said, and easy to say from my armchair perspective I thought the coach could have (should have) made some adjustments.

Watching these divers on the 10m they got their head ridiculously close to the platform. Super sketch.

Haha yeah, I got used to it after watching for awhile, but at first I was constantly cringing that they're gonna smack the back of their head on the board. I don't know how it doesn't happen more often, frankly

I'll never forget the Soviet diver who died after hitting his head on the platform at the University Games in Edmonton back in 1983: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergei_Chalibashvili

Apparently, he's the only competitor to ever die from an accident like that in a major competition. I remember there being a lot of discussion as to whether or not platform diving should even continue to be a sport after that happened.

Greg Louganis, one of the greatest divers ever, smacked his head on the springboard at the Seoul Olympics, but he only suffered a concussion and was able to come back and still won the gold.

Germany lead 1-0 in soccer, could be a great final between Brazil-Germany. Both countries really mean business in this tournament, I can't remember Germany doing this well at the Olympics since the old East Germany days.

No, sorry! The BMX time trials were just about to finish when I posted that. Didn't realize they were almost done

Tory Nyhaug finished with the 18th seed for tomorrow's races
